New 2020 Peugeot 508 Hybrid review - is Peugeot leaping ahead in the hybrid game? autos: the whole psa group continue with the -touchscreen, scroll through menus- way of changing the fan/aircon/climate control/heater adjustments, despite every single review of their vehicles heavily criticising this annoying/convoluted & unsafe. Lazy & disappointing, just like how they refuse to swap over the fuse box in right hand drive models making the glove box next to useless.

My previous vehicle was a Volkswagen Passat GT diesel estate, and i now have a Peugeot sw gt line diesel. I can tell you now that the Peugeot 508 sw is a much better car to drive, and has a lot more extras as standard. Just glad that i looked at the Peugeot sw gt line, before going for another Volkswagen Passat estate.

If you want to compare like for like, to give an accurate comparison, the 508SW plug-in hybrid has 530 litres of boot space, however, it still beats the Skoda Superb estate plug-in hybrid which only has 510 litres of boot space (not 660litres as mentioned in the non-plug-in hybrid)

5 hours on a regular 3-pin is ace for the time, but a regular petrol powertrain is still easier to accommodate in general, and a diesel is still an option that makes sense for right-size usability and real-world economy in the D-segment market.

Oh, come on! Skoda is lying about boot capacity. It's actually only 35 litres larger than 508's. So says the ADAC and they measure it! And who needs so much legroom at the back, isn't 15 cm kneeroom for 185 cm person enough?

This is all this French car company can do? Still working with polluting engine and no plan to go pollution free cars? This is the 21st century, not the old 20th century.
Wake up Peugeot!

Why do Brits feel morally obligated to not pay asking price for a French car regardless of how good it is and always bring up an underspecced German alternative as an more viable purchase.
reply

Unfortunately for Peugeot, all their investment in Hybrid technology has been wasted as they've just been banned along with normal petrol and diesel cars.
oops

Stop talking about the price when dealing with company car drivers, it is the lease cost that makes the difference so residuals are very important
