There's a famous orchestral piece by Heitor Villa Lobos called -The Little Country Train. - Of course it was written about a train in Brazil but listening to the hissing exhaust, the thumping air compressor, the clickety clack of the rails, all synchronised, and then the occasional blast of the whistle. it must have been pretty similar, and you can see why he thought to set it to music.
