At the request of a number of commentators I have uploaded this -Driver-s Eye View- version of the trip from Gm-nd to Litschau without line-side and passenger views, with the exception of a few passenger views showing the last kilometre or so as the battery in the camera didn-t quite make the complete journey. I will also upload a complete -Driver-s Eye View- of the return trip in the coming weeks, along with a two part series showing the return journey from the driver, passenger and line-side perspective along with bonus footage showing the border crossing from Austria to the Czech Republic via the Emperor Franz Joseph Railway. For more information about the railways of the Waldviertelbahn or to book a ride

This was really good, Tim! Some of the shots would've inspired some editing tricks, coming into Neu Nagelberg and Brand, I'd insert the lineside view as a PiP insert, timed so the train comes to a stop in the insert at the same time as thedriver's view camera shows the train stopping. It would take some experimentation but the effect is well worth it, with so much software these days allowing multi-overlay tracks, I look for opportunities to use the effect wherever and whenever I can. The opportunity doesn't present itself all the time, but just sometimes. Hmmmmm, yeah, that could work!

Only 1 problem, neither the driver, nor hi's fireman are aware that the Locomotive boiler is being, -Over fired-, hence the continuous lifting of the safety valve/s.
Over firing is dangerous and can lead to boiler failure and/or boiler explosion; Otherwise a great video and yes next yr ( if this pandemic is done ), I will beheading over that way to ride some rails!

Hello Tim, earlier and again after WW2, this region, like the regions with borders to Bavaria and Saxony, was called the green border. The people were so poor that they would have to earn extra money by smuggling. No wonder a number of legends and fairy tales as well as high-level literature play in the regions of the Bohemian Forest. - Greetings, Heinz
