The Big Boy is technically not the largest steam locomotive ever built. The Chesapeake & Ohio and Virginian Railway had a series of locomotives, 2-6-6-6 Allegheny/Blue Ridge locomotives, which were even heavier than the Big Boys, and are the most powerful steam locomotives ever. Lima made a mistake on the reporting and misrepresented the Allegheny's weight as being slightly under that of the Big Boy's.

Laut Wikipedia: Gesamtgewicht der UP 4000: 548 Tonnen! Tja, everything is bigger in the States. The restoration of the 4014 is to be complete by May 2019. The end of a huge job - isn't it?

I wonder there are thumbs down in comments regarding trains. as there a lot of technology in Rail & Rail maintenance. All feight. trains run - a profit for countries

I've done my best with trying to keep up with the restoration of this work of art ever since 2014, and I'm pleased to say that the 5 year wait was worth it.

Wow that's awesome im a fan of steam locomotives and i bet it was hard to get 4014's wheels turning they should of kept it here in California
