Also, dude you live in a temperate rain forest with drainage funneled onto your land and you're obsessed with solar with a slight fetish for wind. Dude it rains 2 out 3 days on vancouver island and you're pretty far north. Solar isn't a horrible idea but those panels will never pay for themselves. What you need to do is look into water drainage and some hydro power. You've already got water being funneled into your property, you have marsh you need to adddress 50 foot outside your door anyway. not to mention a hydro setup is also cheaper than a bunch of solar panels that are going to provide jack shit worth of power, its far more durable than a wind because OMG you limit the max power by the size of the pipe. I hope you eventually looked into this.
also. I respect the vegetarian thing but I just gotta point out that you're not really vegetarians and you are in one of the best places to fish in the world. Want to talk about a great way to feed yourself off grid, toss a fishing pole into that lake a few hours a week and you will need that garrden just to grow herbs to season your fish.

Well another day of gaining knowledge from watching your videos Jacob I am so impressed with your work ethics and I can tell from your martial arts training does that has a lot to do with it by two I-ve been into martial arts for over 70 years I am 80 years old now and my body has let me know it I have had to hip replacement from falling on mats 100 on the left side and the map my master said now switch go on the right side I didn-t know any better I just did what I was told I trained with martial arts masters all over the world I would train seven days a week until my wife finally asked me if this was going to continue for the rest of our married life so I had to make a great apology to my wife and kids I was told by one of my masters that I was the prostitute in martial arts because I would switch from style to style I have no regrets my arthritic hands tell me I would do my best even though I had broken fingers doing techniques my master professor Wally Jay said no one ever got out of his hold when he would put a hand technique on us well I got out of his hole and had broken fingers are to prove it I love your video on solar power I have learned so much from this video and I am so blessed that I found this segment on solar power I look forward to enjoying your next video God be with you And Nicole safe

hey first major thing I wanted it I saw that I want to comment on if you remember Lost in Space Warning or Robinson warning danger danger Will Robinson! I see a 20 lb propane tank with a rubber hose inside a building guys get a copper line drill hole in the floor or pick on the wall put the tank outside with a copper tube not a rubber tube that can melt when it gets hot there's one that melts you've got an explosion there magic major fire and you're going to put it out with anything you've got. please fix that there's a family living in a camper they bought a fifth wheel camper and they had borrowed another camper it was a family about five or six kids propane tank inside fire explosion blew up the one camper burn the other one down that they didn't own anyway had to pay for it send me their homeless and that's happened over and over and over again those things are danger danger danger danger please do something different cover Line running outside tank outside and never have a tank inside!

For off the grid people they don-t seem to be strapped for cash buying gas and furniture and groceries. Patrons I realize your sending money but people quit sending them stuff. They have lots of money to buy cordless power tools and anything they need. I seriously don-t think they are off grid.

Have you made a workbench, yet? My back will never be the same after lifting something too heavy for me in a state of anger. It didn't need to be lifted, as a fork truck was coming to do the work for me. So, I cringe when I see you bending over needlessly. Save yourself for the kung-fu!

love watching these two. I came across their videos a while back as I have been searching for ideas on living off grid. These two have shown me a lot and THEY LOOK VERY HAPPY. But in this video you can see her butt hanging out of her shorts when they are working on the sink at the end

One thing I learned accidently messing around with solar power and car batteries is to use a battery inline (not looped for 24 volt) with a bad cell at the end you send to your dwelling it acts as a resistor allowing only what you need/ demand giving you a longer battery life.
