People in the comments are upset. the children would know who their dad is when they are old enough to ask the question, and if they want to ask it?
I don't understand. Giving the children the choice to know it or not is great! They live with two men who take care of them, love them, teach them how to use a fork and how to walk, jump and talk.
If they had chosen to say it from the start. maybe those children would grow up as teens saying -i wish i never new it, i love them both- or -i wish i never knew it, i spend better time with my non-dad-.
Everything can happen in their mind when they grow up. Giving them the choice to ask is good.
Since they are open to give them the answer later, I can't see any problem '-'

Why do adults think that as long as they keep it open with their children and educate them on their lifestyle choice that that choice won't negatively affect them. I'm not saying unorthodox choices like this hurt children, but we can't simply conclude that it doesn't. At the end of the day, these 4 made a lifestyle choice that suited THEM best. The children didn't have a say. They were told that this was the new situation, that it was good and laid out a set of norms. We live in a selfish society that does what we want for however long we want. we came up with this idea that transparency and openness prevent trauma bc it suits us. We also decided that anyone who questions it is the problem.

Surely as a responsible parent you would want to the biological medical history of the child that comes with knowing who the biological father is and his biological family medical history. Genetic knowledge is pretty darn important too.
