An ant colony defends their nest from an attacking group in this great video from BBC show Ant Attack. Dimentioguy: Well, the death of a queen termite, unlike the death of most queen ants, doesn't automatically spell doom for the colony. A lot of termite species (I'm not entirely sure all of them do) have supplementary kings and queens that replace the old king and queen should one of them die. With 99% of ants, the death of their queen(s) means the end of the colony. Except, of course, ants with a gamergate system, where the most dominant worker becomes the egg layer of the colony and mates with unrelated males until a challenger becomes new gamergate (unlikely, as the current one actually castrates young workers so as to prevent this) or the current gamergate dies. Bugs are cool, aren't they?

Me and 5 friends are each starting to raise an ant colony, with a YouTube Chanel to each colony. After we get our colonies to a sufficient size we will starve them and then make them fight over a meal. Who would watch?
