Lynn Faust grew up in East Tennessee surrounded by over 20 species of fireflies and has been nicknamed the lightning bug lady. Online: I found my 4 year old running running around my garden once, snapping like a turtle. On asking her what she was doing she replied eating the flying lights. Kids day the funniest things.

There was a swampy field we'd go to near where relatives lived in Independence MO. Thousands and thousands of flashing lights. It was beautiful and mesmerizing. Good memories

Growing up, the yards wete full. of long flashing bugs, but 20 yrs later most are micro. Flash bugs now. I thought the same bug had just evolved into a different pattern.

I also love the lighting bugs. There is something about the peace you get being among them. I really enjoyed working with her on a project not to long ago.

I agree there should have been a video. These images look nothing like a lightning bug. Used to catch them in a jar all summer and then let them go.
