Spartacus escapes from Capua with Crixus and other gladiators from the house of Batiatus. He roamed and raided the regions nearby, gathering more freed slaves to join his cause. The battle he is preparing for will make or break his desire to avenge the death of his wife. Spartacus gathered a total of 9 000 men to fight Glaber who is marching with a 10 000 strong army gathered on his way to Capua. As Glaber approaches, Spartacus forms a defensive position in the nearby woods, setting a trap. During the battle, Spartacus hopes to fool his enemy and lure him into a trap. He wants to hide the true number of his men, making Glaber push thinking he can outnumber Spartacus. This battle will decide the fate of Spartacus and that of the slaves in Italy whom Spartacus hopes to free. This is NOT a historical battle but is only meant to show the war between slaves/gladiators and the Romans. This battle was created using Rome 2 Total War and Spartacus Rises mod. The Roman's fought in a stack with interlocking shield, shoulder to shoulder and front to back alternating who was at the front. It was the sides and terrain that also split this up, but a close study could get this more accurate.
Neet video, would be interested in close accuracy on battles in the future. Greek vs Persia especially

There is one surefire way to lose when fighting the Roman legions, and that was to fight them head on. The Generals of opposing armies who understood this, such as Hannibal, were able to defeat them, by using unconventional tactics.

would love to see one of these on the third day at Gettysburg with all the correct numbers on both sides involved to people can realize what it really looked like with thousands of men fighting,

This is true and historical movies, that till now we remembered why Spartacus rebelled against Roman empire, bcoz of their Savagery and Barbaric treatment 2 all Christians.

Just imagine what 4 well placed MG-42 nests would do to that army. You could literally be god on earth back then with just a few semi-modern weapons.

Sclavii lui Spartacus nu aveau nimic de pierdut, decat lanturile. Era normal sa se lupte cu inversunare.

The Romans should have invited Asterix and Obelix. These two would have dealt with everyone quickly)
