I've seen several of these lists. FINALLY we have one that has1 of the 2 movies that I've always felt was missing from the others (Sherlock Holmes. The first and last of this list (-Ember- and -Prestige-) I have not seen nor even heard of, but both look fascinating. I have seen -Hugo- and -Stardust-, but it has been quite a long time.
The other movie I have always felt should be on a Steampunk movie list is -League of Extraordinary Gentlemen-.

None of these are steampunk. Yes, these are in a historical context, but the machinery is not steampowered nor is it advanced for the time. Also, steampunk has nothing to do with magic.

When I see steampunk I was thinking of movies with hardcore steampunk fashion and flying boats. This is not quite what I was looking for -

Wild Wild West. The series pre-dates the term -Steam Punk-. Unfortunately the movie, although steampunk is really not that good IMO

Sky Captain is technically more in the Dieselpunk genre.
Though Stardust is really more pure fanstasy.
