Any normal person would have thrown the sandwich out, but nope. Madison: I worked at a small cafe when I was 17, and I usually always worked night shift because of school. One night, in the beginning of October, I started feeling really terrible. My throat was hurting, I got a headache, and I felt really dizzy. I was about to ask my lead if I could go home, but then a man walked in and I had to go help him at the register. He first leaned over the counter where I was and tried to get into my face. I was at a monitor that took the orders, so I used that as a shield sort of. He then shoved his elbow towards me, and asked me to elbow bump him. Me being super naive and sick, I did and then he started cussing me out. I tried talking him down, but my throat hurt so bad I could barely speak. He eventually walked away from me, and I told the other employees. There was only one male employee working that night, and he was back in the kitchen. We asked him to come out front with us for safety. The man who came in then started throwing plates and knives at us and at other customers. One of the girls called the police, and they eventually came and had to chase him and knock him out with a tazer gun or something. Then, a fire broke out right next to the cafe, and the police think he started it and wanted to hide in our restaurant. We now a restraining order on that man. and I was sick with a sinus infection for 3 weeks after.

i worked at subway in a small town for about 6 months, never really busy unless it was lunchtime on a saturday. Except for soccer tournament days. One day i wake up earlier than usual and see a text from my boss telling me that i needed to come in as soon as possible, which at that point was two hours before my shift was supposed to start. I get there, and we're absolutely slammed, having to refill most of the veggies every 10 minutes or so. until we run out oof cucumbers, like completely run out, none left in the fridge or anything. So my boss says shes going to run to the grocery store to get a bunch of cucumbers and should be back in 30-45 minutes. while my boss was gone, a soccer mom asks for cucumbers on her sub and i tell her that we're out, and she demands we look in the back because apparently she really NEEDED these cucumbers on her sub. she got mad, i was over it, she eventually gave up on her cucumbers. fun part was that my boss didnt even get back until about two hours after she left and by that time all of the soccer tournament people were gone.

When I was a key holder/manager at hot topic, I instantly gained this protective trait over all my associates. It didnt matter if they were older than me or taller than me, or even if they were my age. If anyone messed with my babies, I would have to hold myself back from doing/saying what I really wanted to do. If in a situation like the last story here, I would have taken care of it and not put my associate out there like that.

We had to call the police once because there was a man in there for four hours and he was sleeping for three of those hours in a booth and then my coworker notices a medical bracelet from like a hospital or rehab place so she asked her husband to call the cops. turns out he had a pocket knife on him. But imagine if we woke him up.

I worked at Subway for almost a year when I was seventeen. Fortunately, when I was closing alone, my other coworker oftentimes would stick around with me. Even if he/she just sat there, they werent being paid but they stayed. It made me feel safe. I wasnt informed of any kind of panic button, some restaurants dont have them.

My worst experience at a subway was in Ingelwood, Ca the employee
Was rude. at the time there was no customer service number or it didn't work. So there wasn't a way to put my input about my experience. I never went back to that shop again.
