Thankfully HIV isn't how it was back in the 80s or 90s, get tested it need be, if it does come back positive, then you should take medication - that stops you passing it on and it lowers the viral load, you have normal life esp then. Stigma stops people getting tested, but trust me, the health professionals who great you will be nice and non judgemental. It's not your fault if you get HIV, it's just unfortunate, it doesn't have anything to do with you as a person. I got tested about a year ago, I had been a drug addict for years, putting myself in dangerous positions, I tested negative, but trust me when I say how easy the test was, I had my finger pricked and I had a little care with 3 circles, I had to blot my blood into the 3 circles, then the nurse sent it off, got my results a week or so later, I think they can do it quicker but it wasn't shameful or painful. I'm glad Charity is so open - love them

I guess we all have our own ways to escape the harshness of this world. This person has found creativity to be their way of escaping. I give so much credit to them for being able to express ones self and not be afraid to show it to the world. I could never do it because 1) I don't have the courage 2) it works be mentally exhausting for me to comitt to putting on a costume everyday

I see Charity's Drag as a love letter to the unacceptable. When you can't normally look in the mirror and feel okay, this is an amazing way to do that. Radical self acceptance. Looking at the hurt and the gruesome and the anger and telling it you love it, that it's okay, that it's beautiful; healing.

You are so brave for telling the world what you went through. We love you so much.
And FYI-. I Want to Be Evil by Eartha Kitt is one of my very favorite songs, it was on my MySpace page one! (Yeah, I-m old)
