On a cold, cloudy day in Paris, in the shadow of the Colonne Vendme, Valentino’s creative director Alessandro Michele prepares for his first haute couture show for the iconic Italian fashion house. It’s a beginning like every beginning, it’s beautiful but also stressful. As he looks over his collection, Michele reflects on his approach to beauty in contrast to the legendary Valentino Garavani’s. In the atelier, skilled artisans meticulously sew and stitch, their hands moving with practiced precision as they transform delicate fabrics into intricate masterpieces. Michele’s stunning couture collection includes a sculptural floral dressequal parts 1950s tapestry and the makings of an adventurous child with scissors and an outdated carpet.

His clothes look heavy and often vey frumpy.
They literally look like they smell mothballs.
Very unappealing, unnecessary costumy and almost grotesque!
It seems to be very difficult for him to make big impact with simple gestures. always too much, too heavy, too wasteful, too clowny!
Just looking at him exhausts me!
He does too much and achieves just that!
Bravo to the Valentino team! Fantastic team spirit and amazing talent.

Pretentious, sad, epo tripping. These brands are placing topdesigners and they should make collection that is spectacular. Then they miss it, for example this clown couture collection. And then corporates and press let's give him a chance, he has to grow. Nobody say it's horrible as obvious to the eye.

I must be honest. Your seamstresses would be better models. The models are fine if they had some curves and looked womanly. It would be more attractive. Let them eat.

Obsessed with the credit he gives to the people who’s literal hands are creating his designs! So sweet & they never get enough credit. The most talented of them all

AM is the designer who made me pay attention to fashion. There is so much sameness to a lot of high fashion. it's a relief he exists and is part of that world

I think Alessandro is so talented! Loved what he did while at Gucci, so super excited to see what he does with his time at Valentino

He’s just doing the same thing he did at Gucci at Valentino. Pretty garments but wish we’d see some new creative vision
