Wow, this journey from tree to pot to stomach is a captivating adventure! Witnessing the process of transforming natural ingredients into a hearty and unique meal is truly remarkable. The way they honor the heart of the palm as a symbol of respect and connection is heartwarming. From the careful harvesting of the oil palms to the intricate preparation of the various ingredients, you can truly appreciate the effort and significance that goes into creating this traditional dish. And that Palm nut stew, with its rich aroma and flavors, represents the culmination of all that hard work and cultural meaning. I can't wait to see and taste the final result in the upcoming part of the video. Stay tuned for more culinary delights!

What did the dish taste like? Isn't the heart of palm kind of a bland taste like a white potato? You said it smelled like ginger and had seafood flavor. I guess due to the peppers it was a little hot/spicy. What were the predominant flavors? Could you taste nuttiness? Was there a strong ginger flavor? Did they use salt? Were there any other flavors like mustard, oregano, fennel, cilantro or coriander or cumin for example?

I love all your videos, but I wanted to give kudos to the quality of them lately. I love the up close, slow motion effects and crystal clear video. This particular one was extra awesome! I loved the heart of palm and the energy, but I have to say my favorite part was the monkeys. And I loved that man singing on the boat. All awesome stuff! Thanks for bringing us along on your journey, Mark.

This video was better than the previous ones about that community. You had your own plate this time. The last videos showed people licking their fingers and putting them back into food. You always give your guest a separate plate, regardless of your culture.

I really believe that people should explore more natural foods in nature. In a world of highly processed food people have lost touch with there taste buds and nutrition.

Looks delicious! I do think that eating it with rice is a waste though. Palm nut stew with kwacoco (taro paste steamed in banana leaves. I salivate just thinking.

Mark, not bad for an American to speak a few words of French. But I thought you spent time as a young man in the Congo where they also speak the French language.

so lovely. So these women who are cooking and sourcing food. Are they paid? I can imagine that the producers buy the food. Now, the ones cooking, are they paid?
