The best cheesy gordita crunch from taco bell at home When I was in college my girlfriend would drive up to the house I shared with a few other guys, bringing groceries, and we always wanted her to make her Baby Shit Burritos. Burrito wraps, refried beans mixed with taco meat about 50/50, chopped onions and jalapenos, and lots of cheese and hot sauce. Wrap that up, give it a quick grill on the flat top (or, probably, we'd just eat it as is because we were not exactly sophisticated) I still crave those from time to time.

Sam been watching you for about 5 years now, love seeing the evolution of your videos and several recipes have been household staples now. Big shoutout to your bacon lentil soup, family favorite!
I will be the naysayer re: dragging the knife though. You're absolutely right about cutting on wood, but dragging it at best is dulling the edge faster, and at worst could cause chipping, especially for finer bevels like those on Japanese knives. Of course, for most people its nbd, and I won't be a hypocrite I do it with my beater knives all the time! Just wanted to point that out for the average viewer. Its easy to just use a bench scraper or if you're lazy like me, flip the knife over and use the spine.
Thanks again!

omg mercy mercy, what is this kitchen sorcery? I must make this. I was going to make cornbread veggie flip casserole today, but now you put my dinner plans upside down. How could you? lol I can never eat out due to salt intolerance (yes I am an alien, so I have to make everything from scratch. This goes on the list of things to make immediately.

How does the owner of a taco restaurant not own a taco holder? LOL I am a big fan of the Double Decker as well and was so pissed when they took it off the menu. The gordita crunch just does not cut it as a substitute, but if they served Sams version, I am sure it would! Thanks for making it!

Interesting. never actually had one from Taco Bell but no need after seeing this. I would respectfully suggest using a stainless steel taco stand (typically holds 3) rather than the two little pots - they are a def aid to assembly - I use them all the time since I just can t eat one!

Never had one, but this does look like a better version. Still plenty of room for a real upgrade, I'm thinking grilled chicken between the flatbread and the tortilla, roasted poblano strips along with the lettuce, bacon in the ground beef.

Making Naan bread (from other episodes) has helped me generate some serious goodwill among family and friends. Thank you. I can't wait to give this one a try! I'm glad to know you cut on wood. good to know (it sounds like metal.

Sam, thank you thank you thank you. I can t tell you how excited I was to hear you correcting putting a preposition at the end of a sentence. Seems like everybody does it now and it is terrible English!

That garbage you pulled out of the paper bag looks like it belongs in a paper bag, total trash. Taco Bell has completely gone to crap. There is nothing they have that would entice me to stop there.

I make mock Beefy Crunch Burritos all the time and I no longer have a reason to ever visit Taco Bell unless its for Baja Blast when its out of season in grocery stores

my favorite restaurant ran out of flatbread the other day, but insisted I couldn't post about it on social media. they made me sign a Naan-disclosure agreement.

What's the point of shitting on Taco Bell at the end? Of course your's is better. It would be embarrassing if it wasn't. That's not the point of fast food.
reply

Not sure if anyone else pointed this out, but I think you forgot to put the ranch on your Gordita. Otherwise, awesome video. Thanks for putting these out.

Love these restaurant recipes at home. Taco bell's still on the cheaper side but making a better version at home is just so so worth it. Thanks boys

Sam challenge: do a whole episode of cooking without your glasses. I'm pretty sure you could do it without cutting or burning yourself; -)

Are you opposed to recreating taco bell stuff or just that one in particular? Because I would love you to tackle the quesalupa, please.

Sam one of my fav videos that I always go back to is the braised short ribs but that was 5 years ago, let s get a revisit on this dish!

How funny, I just began making these a few weeks ago and they are on the menu for today. I'll have to give your recipe a try, thanks!
