Karl is back and this time he does a full sketch demo from his imagination. You-ll see him develop a vampire hunter character while he talks about his own personal struggles developing as an artist, his thought process for discovering a drawing and what his goals are for the future. This was originally an hour and half demo that we squeezed down as much we could while keeping all the best stuff. If you-ve been enjoying the 12 Days of Proko be sure to

As a cartoonist I've always appreciate de realistic look of Karl, Kim and many other artist in Instagram. My early influences are American comic/comicstrips and Japanese manga/anime so my art is a combination of those. Mignola was also very influential in my early beginnings. I love what these guys are bringing to the medium and going back to traditional tools. I do love my tablets and digital art but traditional tools are my fave.

A few years ago I taught myself to play ukulele and guitar and forced myself to learn theory over time I became more Interested in it, now with drawing I feel much the same of learning the hard things first. I grew up playing soccer and can juggle a soccer ball with my feet for the rest of my life. Fundamentals are key

If you study this sketch interview correctly you will notice that everytime he is thinking of what to add to the character, he goes back to parts he has already done and re touches them while he thinks, and after that he goes back to the part he wants to add and starts trying out some stuff

I see Karl Kopinski in the title and i click so fast it's not even funny.
What a great guy
I wonder if he realizes how good a teacher he is.
The way he explain his process and technique is so effortless and all of his experiences are very useful to us.

Think its bad then come back 6 months later and think -hey, i quite like that! -. Sounds the complete opposite of my field of programming. Think its nice when you are doing it, then 6 months later when you come back you find it to be dreadful.

The faculty or action of forming new ideas, or images or concepts of external objects not present to the senses. That is imagination.
This is just memory.

He's drawing from imagination? Why would he draw this? Did those guys do something wrong? Are they monsters? What gives man?
