So obviously, it's true: carp are terrible to eat with a disgusting taste, lol. But I guess someone has to take one for the team to see if it's true, lol. Just think about the first person to skin a snook to eat, it was a major discovery, excellent eating & taste, very clean. But with the skin on, the old timers said snook tasted like soap, so they called snook a soap fish, and it was once considered a trash fish. But skinned snook fillets taste about as good as it gets, IMHO anyway.

Did you guys go up 94 through Minneapolis? Because if you did you just passed me. I think Buffalo carp are native. Anyone who eats carp smokes it because that's the only way to make it edible. And no one is regulating the buffalo carp populations, they are everywhere running all over the place.

Buffalo carp are, by far, the best tasting carp there is. (It doesn't have that dark side like the other carp) All white, & an excellent table fare. Just score, deep fry, add a couple of slices of bread & butter with sliced onion, & I'm a very happy man!

Being from WI, she should know that buffalo are NOT invasive fish. Asian Carp are invasive. Buffalo get shot ALL THE TIME by bow fisherman who think they are Asian carp. And unfortunately, shooting buffalo HURTS the ecosystem, rather than helps it

Caught a fairly large carp, scaled it, gutted it, put plenty of spices into the cavity wrapped it up in some aluminum foil nice and tight and put it on the fire, and more or less steamed it. I didn't have any complaints and made a nice meal.

Well, not sure if this is indeed an invasive species or not, but European carp is kind of slow cooked, which dissolves the tiny bones. Its a traditional Xmas/New Years meal in large parts of Germany, Austria, Czech, etc region.
