dunno where you got the idea that GrUB does not support GPT; I have installed it on a PC to boot Linux at least 8 years ago, so it has been supported a long time

so many things I'm just nodding at though. There are a few x86 (Atom) tablets, not many though, that benefit from an x86 port of Android. not sure how you'd load a tablet with an ISO file :-)
I agree, tablets are really meant to be consuming devices. not that easy to get -work- done, where a full sized keyboard (instead of an on screen keyboard) is a major asset.

I do not know Android of any type. Some apps, Ebook stuff, library digital material need Android. I can see this useful to non cell phone Luddites like me. Learning VPN use under Android may be helpful. I hope I can download a VPN client over its virtual WiFi then load it on a real tablet . I'd rather not use an open, library wifi to get my Android security software. This avoids a chicken and the Egg problem. X86 android is an odd duck, but it seems to have a place, especially as a learning /testing aide.

Great video (as usual) Derek!For me it works but not great.I guess that the problem is that VT-x/AMD-v could not be ticked,so it in not enabled...i had to disable 3d acceleration and use the VboxVGA driver otherwise it was not booting at all...so you see great difference between that and the other virtual pcs i have installed...

Disliking Android because of the Launcher is like disliking a Linux distro because of the desktop environment. There are PC-like launchers available for Android, Sentio comes to mind. I like Android because of live wallpapers and widgets. Is something like this possible on another OS? I know Windows Vista had gadgets.

When doing the password you even said -MINIMUM- of 4 characters then said -I can't make my super secure password-. It didn't say -MAXIMUM-, you could have made the password 30 characters long if you wanted. Even at the bottom it says -Must be AT LEAST 4 characters-. It can't be 3, but it can be more than 4.

The only true installation is a bare metal install, always. VM install is to quickly double check that the ISO file is OK :)
I played a bit with virtualization and I decided to go with bare metal installs going forward to no matter what hardware is available.

I have an Asrock deskmini A300, with an Athlon 300G APU. I am planning on using it as a music streaming device in my stereo rack. Android X86 will probably be better than Linux for that purpose, since all the music apps are in android.

Gonna check this out when I get my old 32G memory machine up and running. 16G ain't much for a VM-machine.
For me still too expensive to get new 2-8G memory for on an old machine so still looking for used ones.

I don't get why but after I installed it it just get's stuck on a black screen with 1 _ and don't know how to fix it, I've tried installing it like 5 times now and still nothing

Tried to install in a old computer, dell vostro 220s and it goes into console without any GUI. Guess it fails to detect intel integrated graphics. Installed grub and debug too.
