Into the Mind: Deadlifts (From Warm Ups to Work Sets)
video description
I would say for you, though, hold your breath during descent or just drop it. When you exhale and lower heavy weight, you are losing all torso rigidity and your back flexes hard as you let the weight drag you down. So I'd say control it down with full lungs or just drop. Don't get hurt. (It also looked like some of your warmups didn't have full hip extension, though heavier sets seemed better. Focus on queuing hips through to complete the reps each time. Maybe I'll drop my weight and work on GVT for dead lifts to get my strength back.

Got a little too enthusiastic with trying to kick out the roof and slightly pulled something in the opposite groin/leg this morning aha! Very temporary once I continued limbering up but definitely a good reminder that sometimes you're not as stretched and warmed up as you think you are! I love checkin' this vid before deadlift day and it really motivates me to do a set with just the bar even though it feels awkward. If Hercules does it, I does it.

Having a relaxed upper back isn't that hard to master technique wise. The issue is most guys core and upper back strength isn't capable of holding position and then they fold completely. The difference is you get more speed off the floor but the lockout from knees is more difficult.

Awesome video man! I noticed on your first working set, you kind of re gathered yourself and moved a bit. Not sure if that was something you meant to do, But overall I think your form is really good! And keep these coming because this video helped me!

Enjoyed the video, it's nice to get an insight of your mind. lol
Your form is great btw but I think it'd help with the lockout if you'd push the hips through harder, once the bar passes the knees, hump the bar and squeeze the BAGHTT! (butt)

Great video! I know deadlifts are a great compound exercise, so I was wondering what other exercises you ought to include in your workout once you hit so many areas with the deadlift
