Hi, I'm a beginner at weight lifting. Being doing it for a couple of weeks. Whenever I do squats, usually weightless or a max of 3-4kgs added dumbbells weights. I seem to get a catch or a strain on my thighs. And it gets tough to do any other leg exercises after that has a similar kinda movement (eg, deadlifts/lunges. Any idea why it happens or if Im doing something incorrectly? Would be of great help: )

Funny, sometimes I laugh at myself when I fail to be Captain Obvious. I am a martial artist and rap dancer, 78, female. Due to my decades of being a yoga instructor, I developed serious hyper extension in my knees and it eventually culminated in tearing ligaments in both my knees. Putting your heels on a weight-. great idea, thanks!

Best times to do lunges, squats, planks at home during pandemic while you-re on your breaks WFH. You just need to be disciplined to make a realistic goals for about 10-15 min per day. As per study, every exercises one does just 10-15min per day, they will add healthy years in your life, of course eating healthy and have a good night sleep. -

I had knee pains on both legs, and started doing this exercise 3 years ago, 2 to 3 times per week. Still doing it. My knees are much stronger now. I am now 75 years old and still able to do my 5 km walking exercises without any knee pains.
Thank you very, very much for this beneficial video that saved my mobility from going downhill.

As a 62 year old with a long history of bad knees, I must say, I tried your method (The Proper Method) I must add, made my knees endure so much better. I did 5 squats and got through them.

I'm sorry, I have to disagree - the squat is NOT the king of all exercises. there is one exercise that beats it hands down (much less chance of injury, better results.

You forgot that your knees should track over your toes when your feet are pointed out. Knees going straight down while your feet point out could cause knee pain.

So am I supposed to almost be falling back
It feels impossible to squat without feeling it in my thighs and knees unless I-m about to fall backward
