Mission Bermudes is a BRAND NEW ride at Futuroscope Theme Park in France. It's one of the most unique rides we’ve ever been on Embark on a journey through the mysterious Bermuda Triangle, starting with a regular boat ride that quickly transforms into something extraordinary. Watch as your boat defies expectations, traveling ON LAND before plunging into a raging river! With a unique ride system that allows the boat to move in any direction (think Pirates of the Caribbean at Shanghai Disneyland, you’ll feel fully immersed in the the Bermuda Triangle. There's also rumor online that this unique ride system may come to Universal Epic Universe at Universal Orlando. Ride filmed July 2025 at Futuroscope in France.

LAME! This might be an incredible new system as most are saying, but the execution is way less than worthy of standing in line. Seeing the track totally ruins the believable experience and the motion of the boat is jerky and unrealistic. What kind of boat leaves the water and flies The ride also seems short and VERY predictable. What was the point of that whirlpool part And, we can see the mechanics of the mist, there’s barely any landscaping or softening to make the surroundings more realistic. And what about that predictable falling tree branch Even the water spouts happen before the boat even arrives. MAYBE a great night time ride. MAYBE

This is one of best new (newish for me-reading comments similar systems have been used) type ride techs Ive seen, really creative and there are some seriously good possibilities here! I get the feeling this isnt a themed ride, this definitely has more a tech demo you can ride with it be a kind of advertisement for its ride type. I dont think it was meant to be a thrill ride in itself, hence the visible track, the breaks in immersion, ect. Its essentially the idea of a playing a game in development, only its advertising the company so places like Universal or whoever may incorporate it.

It's funny how the boat turns to the right in that large pond before the elevator because it's only there so you're not looking at the people backing up from the next part of the ride. I also found it funny that when the ride splashes down, they have those fountains on either side to simulate the splash. With all of the movement of water, it seems like the water ride is a dark ride as well, instead of using lack of light, they use water to obscure the view of how the ride works.

The ride system is pretty solid it cleverly uses elements from other attractions in a fun way. Unfortunately, the theming really misses the mark. I’d give it a 3 out of 10 overall.
On another note, imagine a ride that actually integrates a roller coaster track into a massive, gushing waterfall. It could give the sensation of plummeting down a real waterfall never seen anything like that before. Just a thought, but it could be incredible if done right.

This feels like the boat version of the Indiana Jones ride vehicles with the mummy coaster to it as well. Would benefit from being in the dark or a darker area a lot. The parts above the water where you can patently see the track and aren't going very fast are a bit rough. There are definitely some tricks that could be down to make this seem more seamless. But overall it's very cool.

this feels like it was meant to be a dark ride at some point with all these track elements hidden and a ride building themed to create an isolated atmosphere! As is, the queue-line and the major thrills are visible all throughout, which lessons the experience in my opinion. this ride system would be awesome in the dark!

This is not new, there was a submarine ride like this at disneyland in california when I was a kid back when the dinosaurs were still around. It was not fast like this, but you actually went under water some. The conning tower never went under water, but the body did and you could see fish and stuff under water.

Cool technology, but not really that well implemented as far as impressiveness Rr wow or fun factor. Might be better in a dark ride where you can't see the track that obviously. Like someone said below it's like the next generation of log ride, but just not that imaginative. Maybe a budget reason.

The future is rides with VR glasses. You'll be able to choose your own ride which may differ from the person next to you even though you're on the same ride. It will be programmed to mimic the motions you're feeling only a billion times more dramatic. VR will add insane thrills.

The pacing and the vocal delivery of the audio (I don't know French so I can't tell what she's saying) really sell the feeling of being on an adventure. This looks like a ton of fun and a very distinct experience from your more typical shoot-the-chutes, rapids, and water coasters.

Honestly just seems like a mix between a water ride (like Jaws or Pirates of the Caribbean) and a typical coaster. We'll have to see how well the track and the boat-car's wheel assemblies hold up to years of soaking in moving water, but otherwise similar to a lot of old tech.
reply

Definitely a cheap implementation. The theming could have been far better, covering blocks of concrete everywhere, electronics, and the track. The safety stairs on the rapids could have been themed in, instead of being an eyesore. Otherwise it looks really fun.

Man what a cool new ride. I hope and can't wait to see some huge name parks get some of these and add some animatronics and heavy theming. This type of ride system could work very well with some rides in Disney and Universal studios etc.

Since so many people asking and not one person in the comments answer, i did some basic research and found this ride is at futuroscope in france, the ride is called mission bermudes.
That basic research - reading the description

This ride system isn't new. I think the first of its kind was like. journey to Atlantis in SeaWorld Orland
I will say the tower just being a bare metal structure is kinda lame. Like no rockwork or facade or anything

Great theme. For the US we'd change it up a bit. Picture this: Vietnam era style gunboat, speeding it's way down the Mekong River, each rider has their own pew pew and get to pew pew whatever is on the shore. Thoughts

One of the most creative ride systems out there. That lift caught me off guard. We’ll see if this model can handle the water over time, but from the looks of it, it’s off to a great start.

I can definitely see Universal doing something with the Creature from the black lagoon as part of there expansion plan for Epic Universe kind of make it sort of like Jaws with a huge drop
reply

It's almost like the Flying Dutchman ride in the Efteling, The netherlands. It starts as a dark ride, into a rollercoaster and ends as a watercoaster. Old, but still an awesome ride!

The possibilities are endelss, but it looks a little boring. I bet it's a different experience at night, but there needs to be more going on and a real danger element. Amazing though.
