Maine its a beautiful state, the coast all the way from Nova Scotia to Maine its wild, different, and gorgeous, with all the wild geographic and weather conditions.
The reason or reasons that Im going to all this ordeal, is simply because of a movie that was located in the West coast, actually may happened in Maine coast, and Im wondering if actually that its any true on this breve description.
How many of you saw a simple movie, that actually turn in a great story, and possible a piece of real history, question is where exactly happened, West or actually East coast
Rumors tha the 1980 The Fog, a movie realized by american filmmaker John Carpenter it seems like the original action or shipwreck as referral, it happened in the coast of Maine, anywhere between Nova Scotia and Maine.
This coast line is well known for intense fogs, the boat coming from an European country that theres no record what so ever, approached the coast line in a terrible fog night, but the difference that was no knowledge about this incoming vessel, or no knowledge about gold, or black plague, most possible a boat full of immigrants running away from nothing good, in hope of better life.
Its true that the first Europeans or white people to approached the North East coast was the Vikings, many art facts founded along this coast locations, also its known that most likely the second white folks to reach East coast was actually portuguese vessels, and this is before Columbus stepped foot on American land, that was a portuguese monument pattern of discoveries with inscriptions which had the Portuguese coat of arms and year in front of Rhode Island, unfortunately was removed and thrown to the bottom of the ocean by second interests that possibly came from its Spanish neighbors, to not created conflicts, and not to loose the fame and glory. But the point of this is that for a long time many boats arrived from European soil, and many unknown.
True or not, some how from the middle of the dark fog, they spotted a small inland fire, but without any bad intentions like The Fog movie story portrays, the crash on the rocks was inevitable.
Most likely someone saw something, but probably never proper reported, with an aggressive ocean and extremely cold waters, the chances for survival would be close to zero.
But people talks, and real or fake stories they go from mouth to mouth, ask yourself how many humans they crossed from the East coast to the West coast, and vice versa, theres a large possibility that the story travel to West like so many immigrants did, if something really happened, most possible it will be forever in the bottom of the ocean like so many missing vessels.

I just returned from Portland last week. My father had always wanted to see Maine. So myself, my dad, and our dog got in the car and stayed for a week. We had a fantastic time. We didn't get to see the mountains, but I figure we'll make another trip in the future. I got to speak with some native Mainers and unfortunately they were also going through housing issues. The influx of people from out of state was changing the local real estate landscape this one couple told me. But I feel Maine has a lot going for it. Its a strong culture, a proud people, and I figure they will be alright.

Lovely video thank you! I'm looking forward to visiting Maine for my first time the last week of September 2022. I have all the info for great whale watching, lobster trapping tours etc, but I'm curious as to how much the weather will already have cooled off and if there are any great sandy beaches (I see a LOT of rocks) to hang out for a day and if yes, where would you go FYI: Currently I live in Michigan and I go to our beaches all year round just to bask in all it's beauty so I'm not afraid of colder weather.

Always love me some Maine time! Except for 9 months in 2005. when I worked in South Portland. haha. Seriously, even driving over the Piscataqua Bridge daily was a treat for me from my place in Massachusetts! Maine has returned to Vacationland for me and I love it every time I can go! Can't wait to return next summer! Surprised you didn't mention Two Lights Lobster Shack there in Cape Elizabeth. Reasonably priced lobstah with the wicked cool view!

For a bunch of liberals who hate using Fossil fuels, you sure use alot of it. All those cars just driving around sight seeing, wasting gas and making Climate Change worse. All those GAS and DIESEL powered tour boats, polluting the water with OIL. Oh that's right. your the Elitest group of rich liberals that get away with your hypocrisy. I was born in Waterville Maine and learned how to do many of things through a excellent organization called Outward Bound While at Acadia National Park and it was some of the best times of my life! Any tourist that travels to Maine I encourage you to come a little further and visit Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island and I promise you will have a great time!

Another amazing video! Thanks for masterfully combining aerial and street views of charming New England towns. After watching Vermont and Maine videos, I seriously consider moving up north. It is what I looked for in US for so many years, and it seems it was there in New England. Simply jaw-droppingly beautiful!

Mainer here-lovely video capturing the coastal beauty. Just wanted to say for anyone planning a visit to Maine, the Belfast Broiler Fest went by the wayside over 40 years ago, sadly. The Celtic Festival in Belfast has subsequently replaced the Bay Festival which replaced the Broiler Fest in the early 80s.

I just visited Maine and it is beautiful. HOWEVER, you have to be extremely cautious eating shellfish. I had shellfish poisoning because of a RED TIDE the establishments continued to sell shellfish when they should not allowing the tide to clear and return to it’s norm

I moved. I went south, to work with horses, be near my daughter.
I adore horses.
Worst mistake of my life. Wasted 8 years stuck in Florida, until I could go home. My eyes and heart are on the end of April, when I can, finally, come home to the best place in the world.

I used to visit Bar Harbor back in the 70s. There were older folks who would rent out rooms in their houses for $5 a night and you got breakfast as well. I lived in Portland so going to Bar Harbor was a nice getaway during the summers. The good ole days.

Bar Harbor is nothing but a huge tourist trap. Unbelievable. But you can go whale watching from it, which is the only reason I go.
