we attempted to make Dollywood's famous cinnamon bread. We totally failed but we had a lot of fun trying! It took 7. 5 hours and it didn't turn out exactly like we had in the park but we know what we would do differently now, so at least we have that going for us! Have you made the cinnamon bread and had better luck? Let us know in the comments below!

It's not a fail-it's just different. I use milk instead of water for my icing. Makes it a bit creamier. And, that looks like a mighty tasty sweet bread. I'm trying to watch my carb intake right now and I shouldn't have watched this. I can't wait to bake bread. A kitchen-aide is sooo worth it-for every day use. I love mine and my bread machine. I never usually follow a recipe exactly-make it yours. Still looks good. Also, you need to try the Chick-Fil-A frosted lemonade, if you haven't already. Soo good! ;) Thank you for your home vlooooogggg! ;)

When you make it next time, try to partially melt the butter so it is a little thin and still has its yellow complexion. When you make your scores cut the bread so that the scores almost go all the way through the dough. Try and make the dough fresh again. And when you apply the butter and cinnamon sugar, bathe the dough in a vat of partially melted butter and press the scores down into the cinnamon sugar.

Use your breadmaker to make dough and proof 1 time. flatten dough, sprinkle cinnamon sugar and roll. twist roll to swirl and place in bread tins to proof 2nd time. bake. Bakers get up super early in the morning to make bread, donuts, etc. so 7 hours seems right on. My mouth was watering for a taste of fresh bread. Yummy carbs!

I've made it using the Rhodes frozen loafs of bread. Let the dough sorta half way thaw then cut each loaf in two lengthwise, then let those rise and then cut them and butter and cinnamon sugar them. Hardest part is waiting for them to rise.

When I make it, I might try scoring it about a little more than half-way. Whenever I eat the cinnamon bread at Dollywood, I notice that there are sections of the loaf in the middle were the melted butter and cinnamon mix together.

Sorry this took so long, and wasn't that great - sure LOOKED good. I love that you guys enjoy cooking together - something my ex and I could never do.
Big hugs to both of you, Baby Boy Tiny Tracker, and Bandit!

I was able to make this bread today! Although the icing really wouldn't thicken enough for me, my family was thrilled with the outcome! It was delicious! Thank you for sharing this with us! You two are awesome!

That was a lot of work, but the glaze you have to use equal parts of oil and with the powdered sugar but I guess you could do just water but dont know sorry. I fill like you needed a good mixer

Once your bread rises, don't make a loaf, but press it into a sheet. Put your cinnamon/sugar & butter onto the rectangle. Then roll into a loaf & bake. You will have swirls of cinnamon!
