Day 2 Everest Base Camp Trek - Phakding to Namche Bazaar Tom: I wished you had put it out there that although we have porters and guides who make a living, like anywhere else, no one should abuse the 'help' and fair consideration should be made about luggage for such hikes. Local porters will never complaint about their work or guests, but as more and more people get access to these trails, there also more and more people who don't plan. The rule should be that if you can't carry it on a hike, don't expect someone else to. -

I know that the music used was free then and then later not and it makes them non monitizable. That suck big time. However you should be so proud of these videos. They show the beauty of the people and landscape and their hard work in a wonderful way. If it was so from what I understood is that Kara edited along the way. I can not imagine the strengt and will that took after very hard days for days on end.

-Yes, they have toughen up but after all these are human beings. Tourists visiting this area are not poor and can spare a couple of $100 extra. -
-THAT MUCH weight should be divided into two people. Govt of Nepal should enforce a maximum weight limit (Perhaps 50 lbs max) that these local kids have to carry for 8 days which include up to 8 hours of hike each day. -

If you were worried about carrying the wieght of hundreds of! 000 Rupee notes up to Namche Bazar, one should note that gold is about 8 times lighter that Nepalese 1000 Rupee notes by value. Now, is there a gold changer in Namche Bazar? Almost certainly she is still there, but you might be there a for a good few years before you first found her. ;-)

We went in mid winter. It was too cold for clouds, rain or snow. But it meant that once we reached 3000m we didn't see a cloud for three weeks. They were all below us. The funny thing is that the sun was so strong that although the maximum temperature was zero we were in shorts and t shirts. Nighttime temperatures were very cold though.

It is an awesome airplane. It is like the Land Rover of sky! I have flown it in blizzards, 60 kts winds. No problem!

It-s so cool to be able to experience this through you. I read a book about a guy-s experience getting to the top of Everest. I had no idea this is what it would look like on the way to base camp! Thank you!

Why didn't you pay the sirpa for carrying your bags and then you carry your own bag. I wanna be the gift to him. You use the excuse of the economy to make Both of you feel better. Your 2 very very weak people.
