Since a lot of comments said that Rome is very expensive, I want to say that Rome is one of the cheapest cities in Europe if you are smart enough to avoid the many touristic bars and restaurants. Here are a few tips: - Read the menus beforehand. If you find spaghetti and meatball, fettuccine alfredo, or garlic bread AVOID THAT PLACE. These arent traditional italian dishes, nobody eats them nor knows how to make them. - pasta costs between 8 and 14 euros on average. If it costs more than than that and youre not at some Michelin restaurant, RUN AWAY. - never go to the restaurants right next to important squares or monuments. They are the worst of the worst. - bottled water costs 1 euro, an ice cream costs between 2 and 3. 50 euros, a coffee costs between 0. 90 cents and 1. 50 euros. If they ask more than that, avoid it at all costs. - The best neighborhoods to have dinner or a drink are Prati and Trastevere. Youre much less likely to find yourself in a touristic restaurants than going in the historical centre. And Prati is right next to St. Peters square. - BEST WAY TO NOTICE A TOURISTIC RESTAURANT: If there are waiters outside that try to get the people on the street to go in, YOU KNOW YOU SHOULDNT GO THERE. Ill add my favourite restaurants, I tried them all and they are awesome to say the least: Cacio E Pepe, Sfrigolo, Cantine Cavour, Porto, La Pratolina, LArchetto, Tonnarello, Sottosopra, Baylon Cafe, Osteria Da Fortunata (a bit more expensive but worth it, Il Sorpasso, Meridionale, Raf, Mimi e Coco. Source: I was born, raised and still live in the center of Rome: )

Copenhagen is cheap if you shell out for the Copenhagen Card. With it, you have unlimited free public transit, a huge list of free attractions to see, and free entry to Tivoli Gardens (rides do cost extra) Plenty of good food is available for not too much money, you cannot leave without trying Remoulade. Bulgaria is also super inexpensive, and its a very beautiful country so try to get outside of Sofia if you can (Burgas is a nice sleepy seaside city. People are nice, and the food is delicious and pretty much all farm to table. How cheap, 1. 5 liter bottle of local mineral water was about 42 cents in a supermarket Dinner for two at a nice restaurant in a major city, about 20

That video is as factually wrong as it can get. None of these cities except Kyiv and Krakow and maybe Budapest are really cheap, some are in the middle bracket, some actually really expensive. Please do your homework before you make videos with virtually no value. On a relative scale, the list makes a bit more sense, e. g. Lisbon is not really cheap but cheaper than all the other Mediterranean large cities. Most of the cheapest city in Europe are in the East or South-East: Istanbul, Sofia, Bucharest, Skopje, Tirana, Belgrade, Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, and yes, Budapest, Kakow and all the other great cities in those countries. In the South are Lisbon and Athens reasonably cheap.

Just got back from Dubrovnik and Rome (and a few other places) and I dont consider either to be cheap. Up to a year ago in Dubrovnik, total visitors from the US ranked ninth on the list of the number of visitors from other countries. It is now third and will be in second place shortly. More American visitors equals higher prices. I think Croatia overall is becoming more popular for Americans and the Game of Thrones has increased the number of visitors. I recommend Split over Dubrovnik. Far nicer people, way more things to do, easier to get to, and maybe a little less expensive. And Game of Thrones was also filmed in Split.

You forgot to mention Ljubljana (and Slovenia in general); its more affordable than most of the cities on your list. Slovenia is a central European country with a coast, mountains, lakes, forests, caves and valleys all in an hour drive from the capital Ljubljana. It is very affordable and worth seeing. Next to this it is a very peaceful, calm and green country. It only has 2 million people, not a lot of tourists yet, so it is also not crowded. Welcome to visit the paradise.

I was in Dubrovnik before GoT was a thing and it was crazy expensive in the city center ( not allot you can do in the other parts, no restaurants no nothing. The prices ware higher than Paris. I guess you can go there cheep and stay somewhere up the mountain with no view and eat from the supermarket but that is not the point of this video. Rest of Croatia the prices can be considered cheep and it's really worth a visit. If you must go to Dubrovnik don't stay more than 2 days.

I absolutely love Prague. I've been there about 100 times. Please stay away from those cafes by the Astronomical Clock however. They are a rip-off. 7 Euros for a beer when you can get one just around the corner for 3? Be wary of the cabs too. And never exchange money on the street with a stranger. They will offer you something that isn't even koruna. Be especially aware at Prague's many ATMs. They prey upon tourists at those locations. Guess that's good advice anywhere.

In my opinion yes they are cheap, but there isn't a lot to visit. I mean Prague, Budapest and Lisbon are beautiful, but Bratislava, Tallin? No offense, but you can't compare those cities. Yes Italy, Spain, France they cost more, but think what they can offer, you pay more you have more to do and see. And if you travel and live like a local you can pay less everywhere. this is just my opinion

Totally agree with Prague. Affordable & one of the most beautiful cities Ive visited. But how come Spain is not here? Italy has no business being in the top 10. As much as I love Italy, its actually an expensive destination especially Rome And if you consider Turkey as Europe, then it should be here on this list as well. Georgia & Armenia are also budget-friendly destinations.
