I miss the lake. I spent much of my youth at the lake front with my friends at Montrose, Foster, and Oak St. beaches, to swimming off the rocks. Some of us used climb up and dive from the top of the old Foster Ave pier light tower back in the early 70s, then the park district put fence grating around the top to make it more difficult, finally they put a collar around to make it climb proof.
There is a whole different vibe at Chicago's lakefront like nowhere else in the US

Wow, that’s actually a lake It’s huge! I’m in the UK, I can stand on one edge of a lake here and still see the other side! I like the city lights, especially near the beginning when the pink of the sunrise matches the sign of The Drake, the sound of the water and the wind howling around it’s amazing, I’m going to have to watch the rest tomorrow though, got a little bit too relaxed, thank you

Please be very, very careful here, esp very early or late. We're having terrible issues w violent crime and sudden massive mobs at the lake.
But this is GORGEOUS. If not for the crime, cost of living, and politicians running the city and state, I'd love it here, lol.
