Join me on a this stroll on Anse Source D'Argent on the magnificent island of La Digue in the Seychelles, reputed to be the most beautiful and most photographed beach in the world. Roselior: Very beautiful indeed. However, I have been to many edges of the world like Maledives, and other islands way too far from humanity, and then I have been to Greece with it's 16. 000 km of the most crystal clear coastlines. And as beautiful as these beaches are that I see here, I have seen this in Greece and even more blue and many other incredible ridiculous hues and shades of blue and turqoise. And then on top of that what Maledives, Fiji and all those far far away places don't have is everything else. Because Greece has all these water paradises, and then Greece has 80% mountains for the most incredible views around every corner with stunning landscapes. High biodiversity, from snow capped mountains to Volcano's, from lush valley's to spectacular rugged beauties, from geological paradises to virgin forests and virgin forested islands. And with incredible culture, unparalleled history and the most historic museums in the world. And then one of the most natural hotsprings on the planet counting around 800, 32% forests and so much more. Then the Greek cuisine is heaven and it's people incredibly warm. What I'm trying to say is, yes these places like Maledives, Fiji, Seychelles, Bora Bora, and so on each are incredible, but in the general sense very much alike. Greece is to me the real paradise as it has everything these island groups have and then 100 other incredible beauties that all-together overblowing the senses. and ofcourse the fact that Aside from it's incredible mainland) the Greek islands (counting 6000) are some of the most unique islands in the world, and are among themselves even very unique, with it's own natural beauties, it's own history, culture, local traditions and so on.

Actually if the weather is not great and if there is no sun, the beach is not beautiful at all. On my recent trip there in early April, it was raining. Also it is quite shallow and there are lots of corals, so its not that good for swimming, but I did love snorkeling and seeing all the tropical fish. The water is very clear, so even when youre standing you can see the fish. I prefer beaches where there is little tourism. There are a few in the world, but not sharing here as that would ruin them.

This IS a truly stunning beach As a world traveler fortunate enough to have travelled extensively, my other favorites are Kaunaoa Bay (Mauna Kea Beach) and Hapuna Beach on the Big Island of Hawaii, Horseshoe Bay on Bermuda, The Baths on Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands, Crane Bay on Barbados, and Orient Bay St Martin.

I'm ashamed to say this but I am Seychelles and I've never been to this beach although I have heard great things about it. My favourite beach is Anse Royale and Anse Interdance in Seychelles. I do however live in the UK and noting down all of the great beaches mentioned in this comment for my summer road trip across the UK.

I would have to say this is now my favorite beach I always used to love to swim in pools and lakes but never cared much for being tossed around by the ocean. I just turned 70 the 25th of April so I think I'll skip it altogether. But they are still beautiful to look at when they are pristine like this one. Cheers

Thanks for the mid-week walk on the beach, Dr. LTE. Those rock formations were awesome I've been to beaches on the US West and East Coasts, Gulf of Mexico and Hawaii. Hawaii has some fine beaches but I do love my Northern California Pacific Ocean. Look out for the undertow, though

BS. It's not the most beautiful beach. It's also difficult to swim in. Lot's of coral. Also there are nicer hotels than the Raffles. The beach aint so great. Preferred the Four Seasons in Mahe.
