I bought the previous generation K900 because of Alex on Autos recommendation. He said it was his favorite luxury sedan, so I went to the dealer for a test drive and drove out with one. It is still the best car I have ever driven and my favorite. I always say that I am never going to sell it. I dont like that the new one omitted the panoramic roof. Those rear vanity mirrors would have been better and cooler as Dolby Atmos surround speakers. I do like that they now locate the seat heater/cooler controls on the dash. On my car, I dont like that when you first enter, you have to lean forward and push start to trigger the seat to move forward to your preset position, because after you have your belt on and then lean forward too quickly, of course it locks, you cant reach the start button and your passenger is laughing hysterically. I like on Lexus, when you insert your seatbelt, the seat then moves forward. I also prefer my shifter design to the new one. I think the new one looks too bulky, plain and monolithic. I like the new steering wheel very much, since I am a person that likes to freeway drive at the bottom of the wheel. I do like my front end better than the new one, like Alex said. I think mine looks more aggressive, especially with my headlights, which if someone is admiring my car, they always seem to comment on them. Maybe if they would have raised the power bulge on the hood a fraction of an inch and had larger lower air intakes, it would have added the right amount of aggressive edge I think it needs. But I love my car and I have driven high end brands before, so I know what Im talking about. I also would probably agree with Alex on the spring rate for the suspension. I know my K900 got knocked by reviews for being too Towncar-like, but I personally love it. Its like Brian Cooley said when he drove it. Its like driving on a big fluffy cloud. But you have not lived until you mash on the pedal of a 5 liter V8 like mine that has won the Wards 10 best engines twice. Why do you think Alex drives a Hemi Durango?

Great first test scoop Alex Kia / Hyundai are up and coming and whilst still for some, still the object of derision, the day is not too far distant, where European Chic brands will be genuinely battling the Korean giant/s for the hearts and minds of those for whom Badge Snobbery is everything. The K900 category of car is rarely owned beyond three years & rolled over for the latest model by corporate accountants. The value after three years is still four years warranty, which many private buyers still hankering after the big lux car experience, will probably find enticing and one many will be happy to embrace. The tsunami of Kia/Hyundai exciting innovations continues apace. As an Australian, similar trends exist here as in North America. For context, we recently bought a Hyundai 18MY SR Turbo i30 Premium 201hp/AKA in The US & Canada as the Elantra GT Ultimate, and we, unlike some, value warranty & reliability above vanity considerations.

Im curious if people know that these cars like Kia, Toyotas, etc have been using insulation made with soy to cover all their wires in the motor and underneath the car that connect to everything from starting the car to deploying the air bags. The problem is 2 fold. The dealers dont tell you that a food product is being used to insulate wires because they know that ALL rodents are attracted to these wires. And that includes every critter from mice to squirrels to raccoons to all the rodents out west in the deserts. They have been doing this since 2012 and maybe earlier. The other big problems is that its not covered under the warranty or your insurance and since they keep replacing it with the same soy based product and you have to keep paying. you do the math. Google it. There are at least 3 class action suits already. There are also customer complaints on line and most of the people have had it happen multiple times.

Thanks Alex, for an excellent review. What I like most in your reviews is the honesty and authenticity. You are not promoting a particular car or a brand, and you are not a paid artist. That gives us confidence to listen to you and trust what you say, as if we have examined the car and reviewed the car for ourselves. I am sure that many make their decisions based on your reviews one way or the other. I bought a Genesis 5. 0 and very happy with that. Hearty congratulations for getting a reputation as one of the best reviewers on line

Alex, you, my friend, are a shark When I first read the title, I had to do a double take to make sure I was reading it correctly. Did I really just read 2019? But how did he? Then, your opening remarks answered my question. Freaking awesome Love this car, but if I get one, Ill probably be picking it up in a few years, when I can get one with about 40, 000 miles for around 25, 000. Wish we could get the rear seat entertainment in the US though. Is there a reason they leave that out of the US version? Great review, as always

Luxury people: ) do not drink water traveling? The door pockets are so small and flat that there is no way for lux people to use it Well, it would be too difficult for them anyway. On a more serious side: does the driver supporting /safety systems really work or there are just there to amaze you with the digital gages? It is real question since it is proved that on many vehicles thet are just there and on some serious about safety they just work (Subaru, Volvo?

Oh God just look at all these cars passing by it looks like the Koreans dont even know the existence of any car manufacturers other than Hyundai and Kia. What a crazy car market they have there. Now I kinda understand why Korean cars are so full of copycat designs of other Euro/ American/ Japanese brand cars. Thats because domestic Korean people have never seen the originals. Its a bit like North Korea isnt it.

Hyundai gotta stop this man. It seems like to me they just de-engineer cars and build there own mash up of cars. I think thats there man problem. You see a Ford you know its a Ford, You see a Porshe you know it. I always find myself when i look at there cars saying. It looks like this mixed with that. They have no brand Identity. They have no shame that interior looks exactly like an S-class sedan

Wow. The lack of offering the V8 here in the USA just crossed this off my list. I was seriously interested. Any reason in particular why the graduating turn signals dont make it to the USA? Audi brings that feature or look here on their cars with no issue. Laws cant be the issue. To my knowledge, certain active matrix led or laser headlamps are the only thing we dont allow here yet.
