While we wait for the upcoming Crosstrek Wilderness, the Crosstrek Sport and Limited are the most capable small Subies in America and still very well priced against the competition. You still won't find a regular automatic transmission or locking differentials onboard, but you will find high fuel economy and a serious attention to practical usability.
SunnyD88: The 2. 5L definitely needs to be the base engine with a turbo and competent hybrid as optional upgrades. The Crosstrek is Subaru's best selling car so I wish they'd put a little more effort into providing options. On a side note, Subaru hasn't even made a good hybrid Crosstrek readily available yet but they want to get into the full-blown EV game. same with Mazda. I don't believe them when they basically have zero hybrid options. Date: 2023-05-08
