well if 996 Gen was a mistake, I wonder what got Jeremy Clarkson (President of the Anti 911 club) to place the 996 Turbo at #2 in his top 100 cars of the 20th century, I think that the 996 Turbo's look better then 997 TT's and I think that a 2005 Turbo S is as good as a 06-09 TT and I'd pick a 996 Turbo S over an 06-09 TT any day even though I am a 993 fan.

-Desmonddd2002 I guess that the trend of constantly increasing power won't be working in the future because of an evolution of targets in the car market as well as in the sport cars segment. -Performance- will be changing its meaning over all. Btw speed and pollution restrictions are getting more and more frustrating and this trend

Did you not deduct from his accent that he's from the UK? He meant British pounds, not dollars.
Anyway, I'm closing on a 2008 911 Turbo this week in midnight blue with dark grey natural leather interior and can't wait to take delivery of it! I do agree that the 993's were the best looking. But I want to get on with the times. :)

any real hardcore fanboy (proud owner of a 996 C2 ) knows the history of the 911 and loves the fact that they look like a hopped-up Volkswagen beetle on steroids.
Ferdinand Porsche built the original Beetle and his son turned one into a sportscar, the 911 is an evolution of the original.

993 Turbo for mid to high 30's says the guy in the video.
If so, show me where so I can buy one and make a couple of thousand $ profit. Then I can end up buying a 993 from the profit I make.

i jut realized the 993 turbo has exactly the same power as the new Carrera GTS so it is safe to assume in 13 years time the Carrera GTS (presume its still here) would have 500-525 bhp?

993 for me is probably the best 911. Last air cooled, 959 looks, very fun to drive even the simple carrera. From 996 something changed with porsche, more convertional cars I could say.

Year 2020 now, with the 991. 2 turbos and the 992 Carreras already out. The 997. 2 turbo feels small in comparison! History repeats itself. :)
