Some people reckon a Formula One driver would have gone quicker. Not necessarily, some of the best drivers in Formula One are only good at driving Formula One cars (no mean feat) but some people are just really good at driving certain cars. I haven't researched the driver but it wouldn't surprise me that he is a Ferrari test driver and therefore know the car intimately and has had the time to get to know the track. Well done to him. Legend to get a sub 7 min time.

Banging off the rev limiter for long periods will destroy the engine but the rev limiter is there for a reason. to protect further reving. Doesnt mean to cannot hit the limiter. however bouncing off the limiter will not give max power from these sort of cars. Their peak power drops off a few hundred revs before the limiter.

Those cars are not replacements for a road legal supercar. They are merely supplements for when you want to have that racing driver experience.
If you can afford that car, then you will also have quite a nice selection of cars to choose from when you need to go to work.

-TheDANGERADRIAN You gotta know the track inside out to drive fast on it. That goes for any track no matter how long. Everything else is rallying where you have a map and a co-driver. Prediction doesn't help with blind corners.

Seriously arguing over the rev limiter. Why don't you do a better job and drive the 599XX around this highly technical track and show us all how its done super geniuses. The things about critics is no one cares who you are.

A rev limiter is there to make sure you don't destroy the engine. I have yet to break one of my race cars' engines, and yes I spend quite a bit of time at the limiter.
