Maybe the reason Porsche wins nearly every year, is because most of the UK car journalism is sponsored by German car companies! What the German car industry has done better than any other country, is to put money into marketing. So you can build any old cr-p (show me an BMW M car that hasn't had anything but catastrophic engine issues since the E30 M3 or E34 M5, and how many class actions do people have against Porsche for all their engine problems) as long as you fill the back pocket of the UK car journalism sector. And why would Autocar bite the hand that literally feeds them?
As far as Porsche are concerned, I've seen first hand how cr-p and unreliable they are. And Porsche UK, those people really don't give a flying 'F'. and people scoff and scorn at McLaren for being unreliable!
But for Porsche it's always been the case. I remember the 911 back in the day, overheating unreliable garbage. 944/924968/926 - less said the better. Water cool engine. ah yes, now your unreliability come water cooled, what a dream. Having seen many owner losing their sh1t and their shirt in repairs when it comes to Porsche.

A thorough review and an expected result but why test only on the track? With the possible exception of the Caterham 90%+ of the miles done on any of these cars will be on the road - GT3 included. Testing of a -Sports Car- needs to be done predominantly on the road over a period of a few days in varying weather conditions; not just drifting around a wet track.

That-s a tiny little man. he couldn-t see over the wheel of the E class. couldn-t anyone find a cushion for him to sit on? My Grandmother uses one and it does the job because she is a tiny little person too: ) I think I-ve seen him before in an old Chris Harris video. he was wearing fancy leather shoes (with a big heel) He was tiny in that video too.
