I think the ground clearance is the key factor which gives it an edge over relativity rough terrain. Personally I would've kept the body the same height as the 3 series but only raised the suspension.
You can even see the purpose for this vehicle from the official video. It is practical, close to an SUV interior dimensions, sporty, but you can also take it on unpaved roads (still not off road.

You have the M-pack, the comfort-pack, different sets of set-ups, equipment, colors and so on. The M-pack gives you a black and grey interior, with lots of M-badges here and there, sports seats and a lower and stiffer undercarriage/suspension. There are also special wheels to choose fron and a limited range of special -M- paint-jobs/colors. I was just at the dealer's today, so I know this. : )

I love my 320d GT x-drive (400 Nm torque and 190 Horses) thats why I watched this video, just to see how else likes this car. You should get one! I filled up with diesel in Luxembourg and drove to Spain -130km/h, I did not have to refuel in France. The 8 gear automatic is great, just a super car with lots of space. Try it you'll like it.

I bought the 335d gt and I looked at it from different angles and sometimes I thought it was ugly then from others it looked lovely. I tow a caravan with mine and it still leaves many cars behind with all that juicy torque. As an everyday car it ticks all the boxes for me. fast. economic. spacious. 4x4.

I got one of these and never figured out why my 3 series felt bigger than my E-class wagon. So one day I googled it, it's 9, 5cm longer 12, 5cm wider & 5, 5cm taller than an E-class wagon

I dont get the GT cars from bmw -. - Is the 3 series gt suppose to challange the A5 for exampel? In my eyes the bmw GT cars locks so clumsy i tought they were suppose to look sleek and sporty!

My neighbor had one and when I saw it for first time I absolutely fell inlove. It's just a beautiful car between SUV and a sedan. I can't wait until next week when I am going to buy one.

It's pretty ugly, especially compared to the new A5 Sportback, but the cargo area looks pretty useful plus you get the stretched wheelbase so I give it a thumbs-up.

People tend to think of this car as weeelll not as nice as the sedan, maybe some even say it's ugly, but I keep standing by my opinion of this car being really beautiful.
