Light intensity is measured in Lumens, not Watts. So by doubling the power draw, you've just added extra burden to the alternator and reduced wheel horse power (by a fraction, admittedly) without making any comment about the actual output of the lights.
It would have been really interesting to see an LED conversion, as LEDs are extremely low power for much higher luminosity comparably.
Still, Money Pit is my favourite Donut show and is always an instant click as soon as it pops up on my sub feed!

GTR Lighting's Ultra Series 2 are some great bulbs, do some research on those!
And I'm not blinding anyone, my low beams have the convex lens covers. Never gets light into the side mirrors of most cars. High beams. That's a different story, but then again, they're high beams. I just made them more effective. :D

Yeah, H4 conversion bulb housings were one of the first mods I did to my miata back in the day. made a HUGE difference over the sealed beams. Would have gone for a straight 7 in. LED conversion nowadays though, some can look fairly stock. Or at least do what you did but with an HID/LED conversion(provided you do research and get a good LED kit. Lots of garbage out there if you don't research) bulbs. Uses way less power for the same light output.

You mention that it's good to have the right light a little to right, to see pedestrians etc. Here in Europe (atleast I'm used to it) most of cars have their right light pointed a littlebit higher because of that same reason, so you can see the pedestrian earlier.
Not sure how scientific it is or anything, just thought it was an interesting thing to mention! :)

I think you should have explained more about why you needed to use a relay, some electrical illiterate person out there is going to think they can save some money and not use one then set their writing harness on fire after they short out the fuse that keeps popping for some reason and they ran out of replacements

Knew a guy who decided that he could put 135w bulb (because they are brighter )in one originally designed for like 45w. He didn't want to buy a set of relays. After he burned his wires I just gave him the old guy scowl the whole time he was rewiring his harness. Was very satisfying.

Man I remember getting my 86 toyota pickup and driving it at night up in Frazier for the first time. Damn near sh t myself I couldn't see anything. Invested in some sylvania bulbs and led floodlights soon afterward.

There are probably aftermarket Xenon for more power. I appreciate you do the details of all the things that should be upgraded when increasing hearspowers. Could you ad in an estimated vs actual time to install?

I definitely recommend doing a full LED swap on all the lights around the car(obviously gotta aim the headlights properly) It really adds to the look of the car and it can be a safety improvement too
