I didn-t have much time in Longreach as I was due to catch the Brisbane train early the next morning, fortunately a good friend took me to the museum where I was allowed in before it was officially open. The Q. A. N. T. A. S Founders Museum is well worth a visit, I left wishing I-d been able to spend more time enjoying the exhibits and learning about the Quantas story. I did have time to take a few photos, some of which I have included in this video to give potential visitors an idea of what to expect. I have also included a few shots of the passing landscape taken on my return to Brisbane, along with a High-Speed Driver-s Eye View of the route between Longreach to Barcaldine to give an idea of the vast landscape that is the Outback, showing possibly the longest stretch of straight track I have ever seen. I also got to witness something very rare in Longreach - Rain! PS the -Driver-s Eye View- is fake - filmed from the rear of the train, then reversed

We flew to Longreach late last year and visited the QANTAS museum even though we'd been there before. This time we took the train back to Brisbane and I got food poisoning off the train. It was pretty filthy and didn't look it had been cleaned for a long time. I was pretty upset, especially when the female guard told me it was motion sickness. BS. I've been riding trains all over the world and I have never suffered from motion sickness. Not impressed with QR.

Now of course you realise, for the second part of this video I had to check to see my computer chair seat-belt was in good condition, didn't want it snapping and me flying head-long into my computer screen with any sudden stops now, didn't we? LOL

Is that straight section the location where the engineer has to push a button every 30m seconds or else the train will go into Emergency? The monotony will drive the driver into sleep that fast apparently.
