Happy 238th birthday, America! Celebrate the 4th of July in grand style as we visit the Nevada State Railroad Museum for one of their annual steam ups on July 4th, 2014! The museum brought out two historic steam locomotives and their very unique McKeen motor car 22, all from the Virginia and Truckee Railroad. The 2-6-0 mogul type engine Glenbrook was also out on display. After visiting the museum, we travel up to Sparks, NV to watch the July 4th Fireworks Celebration there. As always, enjoy!

It's great to see #25, the first of the three Ten-wheelers purchased new by the V&T still running in all her glory! I've been fascinated by the V&T since _Model Trains_ magazine, published by Kalmbach _(Model Railroader_ and _Trains_ publisher) did a -Railroad You Can Model- feature on it, back during my teen years. I wore out the dust jacket of my copy of Beebe and Clegg's -Steam Cars of the Comstock, - which is still one of my favorite books of my -Paper Time Machine- that takes me back to the early days of my fascination with trains and model railroading. Great video, Mike!

Nevada has some nice steam loco. I like those american 4-4-0 and moguls. I wish we had more working steam up in Canada. I don't think we would see an American 4-4-0, but we have at least a few moguls. Just not enough cash to fully restore them.

The thrill and the goosebumps I get from those old timey trains just a clanken and a huffin and a puffin and a blowing that whistle and the clanging of the bell. It's beautiful music to my ears.

Nevada has some very nice fireworks display on the 4th of July. I wish my city had fireworks displays as nice as Nevada on the 4th of July.

Would love to see the video that contains that last scene from your intro, of the diesel and steam loco's meeting at the crossing.
