Please note: All the clips seen in this video were filmed between 2004 and 2006. The quality of both the clips and my videography from this time period is far inferior to what I do now. That said, I wanted to post some of these clips and I thought this would be the best way to do it. Let me know what you think and as always, enjoy! Come along for a trip to the last frontier - Alaska! The Denali Star is the Alaska Railroad's premier passenger train, traveling 358 miles from Anchorage, AK Fairbanks, AK. This train runs daily from May thru September. Come along as we follow the train to Fairbanks and then return

We took this trip southbound from Denali NP to Anchorage as part of a Trafalgar/Holland America land/sea trip in July 2019. We were on the white Wilderness Express cars. This is a great way to see Alaska. These glass top cars have a restaurant on the first level and bar service on both levels. What a great way to travel and see Alaska. The best views that we had of Denali were from the train. I strongly recommend this mode of transportation. Alaska RR rocks.

I rode this train both ways in 1991. At that time it also stopped in Nanaimo, where there is a very impressive bridge over the river. Rode north on a Princess car, south on a regular Alaska coach. Turned out the Alaska coach was more fun at half the price! Don-t get me wrong though, the northbound trip was fabulous.

Great video, great scenery in Alaska. I spent 2 weeks in Eagle River, Alaska with my oldest son & daughter in law. I heard wolves how, for the very first time there, seen moose tracks in my sons yard & a few neighbors yards, even seen moose on the roads & streets in the Anchorage metro area.

I'm planning to take this train from Fairbanks to Anchorage in 2019. I'm really looking forward to it. I had to smile toward the end as the train approaches Anchorage and you hear an airplane take off. Almost as if the train was sounding like an airplane for a moment.

Man I hope you know you're gonna' put Pentrex and many other railroad media suppliers out of business one day: ) Great material, excellent footage and all around very professional. I really enjoyed it.

And don't forget Union Pacific, BNSF, CSX, Norfolk Southern, Canadian National and Canadian Pacific all in one state. Alaska has all that too in terms of freight handling!

This is weird, did the entire train turned around? Why is the configuration of the cars relative to the locomotive the same in both directions? Strange very strange.

I thoroughly enjoyed that, even though I prefer steam, there is something about these colourful Diesels, looks like they mean business, scenery nice, ,greetings from UK

Why do the lights on the front of the leading locomotive flash alternately at some times and not at others. Or, is this just an artefact of the digital videocamera?

Does anyone know when the Graham White E Bells started to replace the steel bells? Because if this was from around 2004-2006 they must be old
