Hi Mike! Quick question - Why does it always seem that BNSF trains in and out of San Diego are overpowered? Sometimes the consist isnt even 40 cars, yet lots of times they have up to 6 locos on the train. Is it just me or is this somewhat correct? In my area, more BNSF/UP trains have no more than 5 engines. And that is for the largest of consists. Our QPDRV has usually over 100 loads, with 3 Locos in the lead and 1 or 2 DPUs

Wonderful selection of trains around San Diego. Much appreciated and enjoyed. Just one question: The local trolleys included a couple of shots of green economy cars as opposed to the usual red. Do travellers on this service go at half price?

Great scenes of Amtrak Pacific Surfliners, Coaster Commuter & BNSF freights in the Civilized San Diego area. The San Diego trolley was included. I plan to be back in the Civilized San Diego area for the Memorial Day weekend.

Boy has the San Diego railroads change from the time I was there with the U S NAVY in the 1970's and early 1980's. It was only Amtrak and Santa Fe. The San Diego light rail was just starting to run when I left in late 1985.
