A forest and possibly a relationship go up in smoke in the drama Wildlife, the directorial debut of the actor Paul Dano. Carey Mulligan and Jake Gyllenhaal play a 1960s Montana couple going through turmoil when the husband takes time away from the family to fight a forest fire. In this scene, Jeanette (Mulligan) takes her son, Joe, (Ed Oxenbould) out to see what his father has been struggling to contain. Dano discusses how he crafted a period film with dramatic fire scenes on an independent feature budget.

I loved this movie so much. It had so many isolated scenes that were so carefully written, performed and executed. Carey is on another level. I haven't seen a planned release date for dvd or Blu-ray. Hope it is announced. Also, would love if a copy of the screenplay is made available.

I usually dont like these king of calm and mellow films but i found this one incredibly interesting. Paul dano did well. Carey Mulligun, jake gyllenhaal and oxenbould are brilliant actors as well.

Paul Dano wanted to burn the heck out of something but had to use special effects instead of burning a forest.
Horrific.
