A MAN has lost over 280lbs after discovering CrossFit and ditching fast food. Every time he visited the doctor, Alex Porro was given the same advice; to lose weight or even have weight loss surgery because he was so big. But it took seeing his weight on a pallet scale, for Alex to realise he needed to make a change. Alex, from South Florida, weighed 480lbs at his heaviest and has lost an astonishing 280lbs just through diet and exercise. The 27-year-old used to feel intimidated going into gyms but now he gets up at 5am most mornings to do CrossFit

I was also the big kid in elementary, middle school and freshman year. Between freshman and sophomore yr I lost 50 pounds. I was 200 freshmen years. But starved myself and worked out hard core. Sophomore year I got into dance for 2 years. Senior year they didn't have regular dance. I got back up to 183. I injured my back in 2006. I have 3 buldging discs that make it hard to work out like I use to. I had gastric bypass in 2008. Then has 3 bowel Obstructions in October 2011 and October 2014. Due to the scar tissue. If I could go back in time. I would not have gotten the bypass. Id rather have had the gastic sleeve. If u can lose without surgery do it

Yessir! Celebrate all of those small little things. I appreciate that. I feel so much better every single day I've only lost 14lbs so far (compared to the 200 I want to lose, but I have to remind myself to celebrate the small victories. Being able to walk further, having a better attitude, taking control of my eating habits, less pain in my feet as my step count increases. Small victories that are HUGE to me, and I need to keep recognizing these victories to keep me going!

I'm happy for anyone's progress, but I have some questions. There's nothing here about the dietary changes in detail. I think I get it, but what is precisely meant by -clean food? - Common wisdom now with that weight loss is 80% diet, 20% exercise. If being extremely fit is not your goal, you can lose a lot of weight just by lowering insulin with low carb or keto.
On the fitness side, if you strength train that often, when do your muscles have time to recover?

What a wonderful and inspiring video. I was 105 kg, I am 83, I still want to lose another 10 kg until the end of the year, without -suffering- I take daily walks and food reeducation, I drink more than 3 liters of water a day. I leave GG and XG for G and some models even use M, as I am happy. I'm going to do it in all the videos I did, tell a little about my story. Maybe I can help and motivate a lot of people. Hug to all and Good variety,

If you feel like any extra calories you eat go straight to your belly or thighs, you're not imagining things. Those are usually the areas where you store fat because of your genes, hormones, age, lifestyle

It's hard to watch these videos where the parent acts so oblivious and doesn't realize or don't want to understand how their (the parents) issues have affected their children in negative ways.

Just push yourself. After pushing yourself enough the exercise is fun and inviting. I lift weights 3 to 5 times week. I hated it at first but now I catch myself at work wanting to do pushups.

My first week at the gym is done! I love this feeling. Really need to get my food intake under control tho. But I-m 499. 6 today. Let-s see where I-m at in a 6 months and a year
reply

He did for himself! Massive respect. You can clearly see that this dude IS BUILT now even despite the loose skin. I hope he finds a way to get surgery soon, he truly deserves it imo.
reply

To b honest, I expected lot more loose skin! It-s not bad at all. I noticed that folks that go really down in weight tend to have more loosely skin. He did it right to stay at 199.

Hey man I'm super inspired by you and your journey and would love to discuss how you did it from the dietary aspect to push me further on my journey.

It's great when people realize they have a problem and change for the better instead of making excuses for not doing it. Very inspirational

Something must be done to raise fund for surgery of his skin removal, at least enough to get it done in Canada, where it would be cheaper

Primera vez que veo una realidad, bajo de peso y como es obvio se le colgo toda la piel y eso es normal porque en otros videos no pasa eso

I am currently 240 pounds and started my weight loss journey. It is really inspiring to watch this kind of videos as it motivates you
reply

Parents have to address all issues their child is facing and help them deal with it in a healthy way. Food is never the solution.
reply

Cool transformation. They should get free surgery afterwards it would be a great way for plastic surgeons to advertise.
