THE FIRST TIME Erica and Austin met in person was not your typical first date, in some bar or restaurant. It was outside the gates of a prison in Iowa, on his release day after serving a seven year sentence for his part in an armed robbery. They had been put in touch seven months earlier by a mutual friend, who had suggested that realtor Erica may be able to help Austin find a place to live once he got out. And though romance was the furthest thing from both their minds at the time, the more they talked on the phone, the stronger their feelings for one another grew. Though loved ones questioned why Erica was turning down dates to stay home and talk to a man in prison thousands of miles away, they soon came around once they saw how happy she was. The couple have also faced their fair share of criticism from online trolls - but proved all the haters wrong when they tied the knot days after Christmas 2021. She said: People judge from a 15 second online clip when they have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. But I'm really excited for this next chapter with Austin. The future is bright. To keep up with Erica and Austin's love story

I lost my son for a year because of my bad decisions with opiates and that year was when I realized what I wanted and that was to be his mother and protector. I now have him back have been clean a year and a half, own a home and do it all by myself (his father didn't shape up and is now going to prison) with help from my mother also but 90% myself. It takes finding what you want in life to shape up and maybe for him it's her and having a family. For all you know he could be the best human doing nothing wrong ever again. Maybe not but you never know. So to say anything other than supportive things just makes you seem like someone who would love nothing more than to see people fail. That is not what this nasty world needs!

This relationship is a potentially high risk situation for your daughter. Remember- kids don-t have a choice. Whatever you bring in the house they have to be stuck with it until you choose to do something different. You don-t know this man. PLEASE don-t let your feelings lead- Go to family therapy and continue even if things feel fine. A trained professional will help you to sort through this process so that everyone has a chance to be safe. If he refuses therapy or tells even the smallest lies- RUN FOR THE HILLS!

I met Erica some time ago at a upscale social event and tried to get to know her, she even told me about her daughter when we first started talking. I was fine with it even though I didn't have kids. I wasn't too far out of engineering school and had just bought my house. If she had just told me that all I needed to do was rob a likka store to keep her interest. I still wouldn't have done it but at least I'd understand why she wasn't interested. Lol. Good luck to them both though.

Truly tests us every day. And what sucks is they are choosing people that make entire communities of relationships have a worst wrap than they already have. There are prison wives where the partner actually has a good story, there are poly relationships where everyone is on the same page and so much more but they keep showing the worst ones. I know they are trying to create an open minded and positive environment but they are making it worse with their choices.

My uncle was locked up almost 17 years of for drinking and driving and his friend died! He has a wife and two boys now and he has always been the sweetest man! It-s people out here that are evil evil that don-t go to jail and people look at them as great! You can-t judge a person from they past! You could be sleeping with the devil and he or she just ain-t been to jail! Blessings to them

Sorry but there has got to be something wrong with you if you seek out or find violent criminals to befriend or date or marry. It-s warped. Although I-m sure it-s not hard work for him loving a beautiful woman with a good job and a ready made family. I don-t understand why she would knowingly invite this man into her daughters life though?
reply

Sorry, but seven years is within the standard for armed robbery, and it-s a fair sentence. He was in the car. There-s absolutely no way to prove that he wasn-t involved, or that he didn-t know what was going to happen. I-m glad he-s out and hopefully he-s changed and not hanging around those types of people anymore.

I-m happy for them. Everyone is deserving of love. Maybe if she didn-t love and believe in him when he was locked up he wouldn-t have got out and actually did good. Everyone makes bad decisions and mistakes at a young age. We all deserve a second chance. I-m wishing them the best.

He made a mistake as a young man, he-ll be fine in life. But be real, you just don-t accidentally end up driving the getaway car after an armed robbery of a woman-it could have gone way worse-imagine that woman in that very scary moment. Let-s not minimize these crimes.

She got a good man there. He is working, and didn-t leave her when he got out. Most guys in prison would of. He stuck by her, got her a ring, and is going to marry her. It-s love. He is loyal you can tell. He got his act together and leading a new life. They love each other

This poor woman just screams desperate to me. Why would you let a convicted felon around your child? When the hell is the father at? Clearly this woman thinks with her another regions and not her brain. Something strikes me is very off with the so-called boyfriend.
reply

Women like this are deluded to think they are in a relationship with someone they can-t physically be with In Real Life. -After Parole- doesn-t count. Most women in this mindset, their -lovers- never get out of prison.
reply

LMAO. Armed robbery. And he was the get away driver. If you're trying to aim for less intense crimes to complain about the amount of time in prison. How about stealing a pack of bubble gum! This brawd is delusional.

There is more to the story!
His friend robbed a lady for her cell phone and he got 7 years. I don-t believe it!
Guys like this in jail who is serving a long sentence like this pray on girls to get ahead.

When Austin first got out he looked clean cut and shaven. After being out he looks Rough. When Austin spoke about why he likes her He Only spoke about all that She did for him. She'd better be Careful.

I have a friend who married a guy who was in prison for robbery for 7 years, he was very young at that time. They have great marrige, 2 sons and baby on the way.
EVERYBODY DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE

reply

Ok but what his intention? Did you ask if he didn-t know dude was gonna pull out a gun and rob some lady or was it a planned event? I-m gonna guess the latter if you don-t explain that to us: /

Do we get updates on these -Love Don't Judge- couples? It seems most of them are quite early in their relationships at the time of filming. It would just be interesting to see how things developed.

Question: how was he trying to buy a house from jail? Where did he get the money to buy a house? That's the real question. did he make that much in jail making license plates to afford a house?
reply

He probably screws different women everyday. since you two live in different states. I'm sorry honey but this is not going to be some fairytale love story. He knows exactly what he's doing.
reply

Alpha seed/beta need. If you pick someone up from prison then you should never get any government hand outs or sympathy from anyone. That is your problem when it fails, no welfare for you
reply

He-s done very well to have a beautiful woman come into his life and with a daughter, let-s hope he doesn-t get into any other wrong situations and stuff up again. Best wishes to them.
reply

I just finished up with my LO getting out. it was the hardest time of my life. Really challenges the integrity of the relationship - but can produce the most pure relationship ever.
reply

wait this isn't adding up. first of all, how is he reaching out to real estate agents if he doesn't have money? and really she's going to defend him for his crime? girl you wilding
reply

Of course it wasn't at all his fault and ironically he was just innocently driving the car. Cut me a break! Listen we all make mistakes, but atleast accept responsibility!
reply

So he's an ex con who found love? Isn't this what we aim for with rehabilitation in prison? You want this for inmates to live an upright life. What am I missing here?
reply

The best part is Austin got someone who can feel bad for what happened him
and our heroine got someone who can make her feel good about her
Love --- Is love

reply

Where is the father of that little girl? How can he be okay with her being around a newly sprung convicted felon? Someone needs to step in and protect that child.
reply

Why was she connected as his real estate agent if he lives in Iowa and her in Texas? Wish then the best. Iowa can be agreat place to raise a family
reply

Erica is very pretty and seems to have a good heart. I wish her, her beautiful daughter and Austin nothing but happiness and many blessings--
