I'd kinda like the contact between Polynesians and Native (North American and South American) peoples went too, as maybe a contrast point to the white v. PoC narrative. Though I get the archaeology is thin on this point. Sometimes there is too much focus on white people. What I think is super cool is that Polynesians beat the pants off of any first Europeans to the Americas and it resulted in a cool trade establishment and some intermarriage (according to current Archaeology. Such that Polynesians now have many Central and South American crops, like Sweet Potatoes.

The people of the Caribbean will never forget the ancestors and we will never again let the Taino peoples be targeted. Ayiti, Boriken, Xamayca, etc so many Puerto Ricans, Dominicans and Cubans and even Bahamians and Haitians (like myself) know of the stories past down, and our history. From Anacanoa in what’s today Haiti to Hagutey in Boriken. Love to all the native peoples and their children in the Caribbean

The map of the silk road is incorrect, but then I'm being a picky hyperfocused fan of the Silk road. (There was also a route that connected India to China and also a Southern sea route that connects Tamil, etc to China and Korea. These created tensions between Baekje and mostly Southern China) But then I've been enjoying this series so far.

Thank you for highlighting the history surrounding the CA gold discovery. Do you have a bibliography for further reading on the subject The Shingle Springs band of Miwok Indians have been buying back their ancestral lands near the Sacramento River and that is super interesting. Another great video! Thank you!

3: 00 there is also some evidence to suggest that Mansa Musa of the Mali sent ships that made it to the new world as well. DNA, cultural likeness, language loans and even body similarities all suggest that the Mali made it to the new world before the Spanish did.

Thanks again for the series! It broke some misconception I had, it's easy to follow even for people knowing nothing on the matter, and it helps to grasp a little bit on what is the reality of native american history

10: 05 That is a heavy sigh that sums up. quite a bit. Ooph. Thank you for speaking so frankly and honestly on this very difficult topic.

Crash Course really highlights how first contact’ was more about exploitation than exploration. Grateful for this deeper context.

So excited for this! Especially looking forward to the part where Columbus serves everyone Turkey dinner with stuffing and taters.
