Hank introduces us to the relatively new field of evolutionary developmental biology, which compares the developmental processes of different organisms to determine their ancestral relationship, and to discover how those processes evolved. Also fruit flies with eyes on their legs and chickens with teeth!

! That's so fascinating! Does this mean that chickens have the genes to become dinosaurs, and thus, does that mean that if we clip the hox genes that make it a chicken and repress the dinosaur features and we activate the hox genes that generate a dinosaur --- does that mean we can, sort of, resurrect dinosaurs!

Those explanations aren' t satisfactory answers to get clear concepts about human presence on earth and life processes. Here we miss more than 99% of the total history implied in the development of life. Anyway, thank you.

I actually saw a cat with six legs. Some mutation caused it to grow an extra pair of forelegs out of its shoulders, making the legs appear even though they were not active.

My son commented after watching this episode that we could bring back the dinosaurs then. I said -yes, I guess so, if we turned on the regulatory genes for them again-.

Hox genes man. Thousands of lines of code making RNA to go have other RNA follow other instructions on where to build something. we are -fearfully and wonderfully made. -
