In our series finale, we're going to take a look at some of the times we've used statistics to gaze into our crystal ball, and actually got it right! We'll talk about how stores know what we want to buy (which can sometimes be a good thing, how baseball was changed forever when Paul DePodesta created a record-winning Oakland A's baseball team, and how statistics keeps us safe with the incredible strides we've made in weather forecasting. Statistics are everywhere, and even if you don't remember all the formulae and graphs we've thrown at you in this series, we hope you take with you a better appreciation of the many ways statistics impacts your life, and hopefully we've given your a more math-y perspective on how the world works. Thanks so much for watching DFTBAQ!

I am suspicious of the given figures for hurricane miss ranges - it's not impossible that the figures given in kilometers are the original data and they just happen to convert to round numbers in miles - the chance of two figures given in kilometers both converting to multiples of 50 when converted into miles is 0. 4% (there are other ways of characterising them that can give different probabilities, higher or lower.
I suspect that the figures in miles are the original data (after rounding) and the figures in kilometers are converted from that, in which case the presentation of the data in the video is misleading in two ways - firstly, it's presented as though the kilometer figure is the original data obtained, and secondly the figures for kilometers would suffer from spurious precision - giving the impression of greater accuracy than is justified.
Of course, it's also entirely plausible that either or both of these things happened to the data before CrashCourse got hold of it, and all they're guilty of is not challenging the suspicious figures.

I binge-watched this series over the past week. I already hold my BS in Finance, but in reading trade publications realized I had started to forget some of the concepts from stat I and II. While I continue to search for a job a year after graduation, I'm grateful these videos exist to keep Type A people like myself busy while we hunt for employment. I'm sad to see it come to an end, and can only imagine how those who followed it for a year must feel! Next week it's on to economics!

Ohk Math is good but why math have big formula. My teacher had started Regression Chapter and boy it's though to find answers in two decimal also I had done with Spearman repeated data and there I have to consider four decimal place instead of two. Plus my exam are in April I already Fear Regression Chapter. Should I skip regression chapter?

Well done series but interesting to see Sabermetrics more or less used as an add for the utility of statistics. While it certainly has become an important component of the standard baseball analysis toolkit, it-s stock is somewhat down from it-s heyday, when it was considered the savior of strapped franchises.

I am going to be taking an exam in risk management soon and this series helped me understand the real life implications of the complex statistical concepts with which I am currently struggling. Adriene, you are amazing! Now, I hope Crash Course comes up with a series in finance. :-D

Thanks for this amazing series! I've taken Statistics before, but it was nice to have a refresher on all the different aspects of the field. You did an outstanding job of making it approachable, informative and fun. Thanks to all of you who worked on the show! :-)
