Today, in our final episode of Crash Course AI, we're going to look towards the future. We've spent much of this series explaining how and why we don't have the Artificial General Intelligence (or AGI) that we see in the movies like Bladerunner, Her, or Ex Machina. Siri frequently doesn't understand us, we probably shouldn't sleep in our self-driving cars, and those recommended videos on YouTube and Netflix often aren't what we really want to watch next. So let's talk about what we do know, how we got here, and where we think it's all headed. Thanks so much everyone for watching! Don't forget to subscribe to Jabril-s channel here! And you can find some more free recourses to learn about AI below! Crash Course AI is produced in association with PBS Digital Studios

Hate to scare folks, but watch for Autonomous Flying Cars (AFC) to become widely used before Self Driving Cars (SDC. Why, you ask? Good question. It's actually quite simple. the level of technology required to safely travel via SDC is far greater than AFC due to the much greater number of uncontrollable variables that SDC's must contend with in the very confined 2D roads. There are no dogs or kids darting across the road when flying, and all travel in that space can be fully controlled thus providing efficient, adequate separation. Once the Big Money decides AFC's will be the sure winner, watch for an exponential rate of development in that technology (assuming that rate has not already been achieved.

Process automation to hyper automation
In 2020, we would begin to see the rise of hyper automation, which is the meeting point of intelligence driven by AI and ML with autonomy driven by robotic and cognitive process automation. Hyper automation would help support dynamic and complex business processes including loan processing, insurance claims, warehouse dispatch and others. This would provide the unique advantage of mimicking user actions on terminals like carrying out transactions and generating dynamic content contextually to deliver on speed, accuracy, reliability and reduced costs.

I'm a computer programmer and technologist. A. I. does have potential to do a lot of good in the world. However, like any other tool, it can also be used for evil purposes as well. Since the directives of A. I. are established by people, it is not a question of 'will A. I. be used for evil' but rather 'when will A. I. be used for evil'. I thought that dislocating so many in the work force was bad enough. Please don't get me wrong. I enjoy working on technology. I believe that with additions laws and oversight, we can limit the evil side of technology.

The unibomber said that technology leads to oppression. The reason given for this is that the newest technology is first accessed by the wealthy ruling class, and that they monopolize technology to rule the oppressed masses.
Of course if this were true you would find that only the ruling class and the wealthy would have access to the most dangerous technology, and that barriers would be placed so that common people could not weaponize technology in a manner that the ruling class or wealthy do.

Think of it like this, the more people get replaced, the more jobs open up in other places. More money for the average person due to lower prices=more people with money to spend elsewhere. Usually in the art department, and people with extra money will want to spend it

This is the first Crash Course AI episode I-ve watched and I was so blown away that a black guy started smoothly talking with a calm voice instead of one of the Greens crackhead energy (which i still love, but this is awesome, I-m gonna have to watch the entire series now.

Future of Artificial Intelligence? Watch the -Second Renaissance- episode of the Animatrix and see mankind's enslavement to machines. That's a taste of our future, a preview of things to come if we dont treat AI with equal respect.

Keep in mind predicting the future is a tricky business you can't take into account undiscovered discoveries that have yet to be discovered, to increase or accelerate the discovery of more advanced artificial intelligence.

In the future, I believe we will live in a sustainable physical reality run by artificial intelligence and automation to meet our basic needs while we spend most of our time finding higher fulfillment in virtual reality.

Kinda related: Andrew Yang is the ONLY candidate I've seen running that not only talks about this tuff, he understands the potential, inevitability, and risks of it.
