video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
In which John Green looks at Europe's attempts to recover from the devastation of World War I and forge a lasting peace. The peace did not last. Today we're talking about the economic cultural recovery of the 1920s, and the economic depression of the 1930s, and the fragile state of Europe after the Great War. We'll also look at the rise of fascism via the auspices of populist leaders like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini, and we'll set the stage for the war to come

My great-grandfather was a veteran of WWI on the German side. He had a lot of things that are talked about in this video, he (most likely) had shell shock, which drove him to alcoholism. He was not always a good father, beating his children, especially his sons, with a belt. He had a bullet stuck in his leg from WWI, so he could never use that leg again. He did have a job however, being a tram driver.
But, as my grandmother and her sisters have told me, he hated Hitler. He had seen war and hated everything to do with it. It became normal to have a picture of Hitler in your household, but he is supposed to have said: 'That man will not enter this house! Not even if he'd stop by himself! ' I just want to say with this, that there were also veterans who were tired of war and tired of Hitler.

da da da daaaaaa! read -they thought they were free - a book about the divide and conquer of a nation Germany. things are far more complex today and we have nukes allot f nations that a safety as much as a imminent danger, minorities now are being made out of anything any characteristic that differs from the white male hence the white male is becoming the minority most hated. history rhymes and it doesnt repeat in exactly the same way. and sports. oh sports.

-allowing hitler to promise to restore the mens masculinity- and you have sone other similar remarks throughout the video. what are you talking about, man! even today in 2020 ffs you as a man are seen as a utter failure if you don't make paper to get the girl and support the house even if the wife is working on an equal payment or close. give it a rest!

the nazis were never socialists they were called that to trick workers into voting for them, and when hitler joined they were extreme right. and fascists almost always have total suport from elites often to stop communists from taking power. also your confusing social liberals with socialists which are very different.

-The urge to create outsiders is the problem-. hmmm and yet when Melinda and everyone else locks their doors at night they do exactly that, create outsiders. it is a cute qoute but reality is not that simple.

Small correction
6: 21 the picture is from a Perahara festival in Sri Lanka (probably Kandy Esala Perahara) and not from India.
Loved the video, as always!

Do a video about the history of AFC Wimbledon and how the original club was rebranded to MK Dons by delusional and how the fans founded the team you now sponsor.

Is Benito Mussolini gonna hypnotize you or order your assassination? Simple, he's gonna hypnotize you to order you to assassinate yourself. XD
