Roseapple Pi Review! Another Raspberry Pi like computer! Peter: In terms of support - which could be the differernce between having a warm block or a useful computer - Raspberry Pi 3 beats the lot hands down - all GPIO etc can readily be used with widely available drivers. Some boards like the M1 are cheaper - and that gives them an advantage. The Roseapple is nice - and has 2 gig of RAM - but why. why would you do it. I've just managed to get basic GPIO running here but still no idea who to get i2c etc running as a normal (pi) user with the GPIO utility for example so that this can be incorporated into Node-Red.

I laughed out loud when I heard, If you desperately need the word Apple in everyone on your products. at roughly the 4: 01 mark. Thanks for ridiculing the Cult of Apple.
Rashi (a great rabbi) recommends we ridicule paganism. Although the Cult of Apple might seem mostly harmless, it is not. Paganism in all of its guises is extremely dangerous. Our Jewish sages generally group paganism, murder, and adultery together.

Have you tried the udoo x86 or the pine 64 or up board or odroid or firefly that's my favorite they have 3 different versions of rockchip arm soc's a 4 core CPU + GPU, a 2 core + 4 core big little CPU + GPU & a 8 core CPU + GPU and they all have lots of RAM and eMMC flash but there Chinese so they lack software development.

Can you review the Udoo neo, Udoo x86, and Udoo Quad boards. they are not raspberry pi replicates. but they also support arduino shields and wifi, bluetooth. the Udoo X86 board even support M. 2 and HDD (since it has pentium quad core which draws a mere 6 watts. and it can work linux, android and windows 10.

Thanks for the great review.
I'm very interested to hear that it's essentially the same as the LeMaker Guitar.
Since it's still nearly impossible to get Roseapple Pi in the USA, I'll take another look at the LeMaker Guitar boards.

if raspberry pi 3 had giagbyte RJ 45 port rather than Ethernet port, and a USB 3. 0 port, it would be most awesome NAS and media server and torrent downloader

You should review the 9 CHIP from Next Thing Co if you wish to compare a board that offers some surprising processing power and has 80 GPIO pins.
