Make your own Li-Ion Battery Pack John: Without some voltage regulation on the output, the voltage will quickly sag below anything usable if it goes all the way down to 7. 5v. Either use a boost converter on the output or go 4P2P and using a buck converter for the output so that it's 12v for the entire range of the 18650s. Of course this video is 3 years old and you know this now. Just for new viewers.

Hi Scott, you're really phenomenal at what you do. So I need your take on this: I'm looking to start a company in Nigeria that'd manufacture battery packs. First i figured I need to set-up a research facility for the kind of battery I want. What lab apparatus, components and skill-sets would I require to achieve this?

I have a project for you. Just like a cell phone recharges can you make a sewing machine to run of batteries for 4 hours then plug it in to recharge the batteries. I was thinking a Mechanical sewing machine like singer prelude 8250 or similar

Adding a BSM is pointless and a waste, it also drains your battery quicker! Better to build a batterypack without a BMS and just use a balance charger! Your cells will have a longer happy life.

5: 16 why is the xt60 plugged in? does that also need to be plugged in to charge? can it not charge just with the balance cable? do you connect a load to the xt60 or somehwere else?

So let me make sure I understand this correctly. there are 2 types of connections. parallel and serious. I guess the parallel connections are not so serious.

Great video, electronics is abit confusing to me, can you explain why 3 cells in series add up to 2500mAh when each of the cells themselves are rated 2500mAh?
reply

Can i charge this pack with b3 10w pro compact charger
Which can deliver 800 mah balance current charging to each cell in 3s via connector only

is there any ampere gain when 12v step down to 5v? ex. 3ah 18650 batteries serial connected or parallel to charge phone using with 5v step down?
