
Build your own RGB LED Cube Part 1: the cube and case

I am working on a project where I will be needing multiple led's to be controlled by my raspberry pi 3 gpio pins. Actually its exceeding the number of gpio pins available. Take an example of led thermometer implementation for reference. So my question is how can we control many led's without exhausting out the gpio pins.

So I am in the progress of making this. Soldering together that cube is a pain in the ass.
Dont get silver coated bridge wire, get raw copper wire! The solder wont take onto the silvered wire. Or maybe I am just terrible at soldering. Probably that too.

I want to make my volvo 940 interior lighting rgb and make it possible to connect the lighting to the Ikea rgb controller, i need to have 12 different leds and i need them to have separate wires for each led, but i have no Idea how to do IT xD

just wanted to say thanks for your videos and have gotten back into doing projects. also if people want to do a led cube in a single colour. aliexpress has them for around 30 dollars.

For any cheap bastards like me out there, I priced this out on ebay with most of the parts shipped from china and this is about a 50-70 project if you have none of the materials.

My wires keep snapping when I'm trying to straighten them. Any advice? I bought the silver plated copper wires that are on instructables.
