My Uncle, U W Todd was a Pvt in the Armies 38th infantry Div. He had served in New Guinea and he was sent to Leyte Gulf as a follow on wave of infantry. He won a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. The later cost him his life.
He was on a ship in Leyte Gulf on December 10th 1944 when the first organized, purposeful Kamikaze attack of WWII was launched against US force. His ship was hit and he was burned horribly. He died three days later and was buried at sea. I know he won a Bronze Star but don-t know why. many of his records burned in the early 70-s in the fire in (I think -St. Louis.
I never met him. It is terrifying to think of how he died though doubtless he was administered huge quantities of morphine- there was nothing else to be done. I remember him always but especially on Memorial Day

I think in the first part of the introduction of yamato and musashi the ships are wrong because yamato had a lot of guns and when you shown musashi, musashi had a lot of guns while yamato had less guns, so yeah you shown a picture of yamato but you said it is the musashi and when when you shown us picture of musashi you said it was the yamato

Why will no one answer the question. -Why did Halsey abandon the north straits to the Japanese warships-. just because a few pilots convinced him that they destroyed the Northern Japanese Fleet? Sounds ridiculous. So why did Halsey chase after a weak Japanese Carrier Fleet?

Junk. They keep repeating the same things, the entire battle of Surgaiu straight is missing (cut out) between parts 1 and 2. Battlefield: is much better. Fact based, no hype and repetition. Battlefield 360 wastes time on hype and nonsense and leaves out crucial facts.

Musashi and Yamato were little more than floating hotels for Admirals. They were too expensive to run, with such tight fuel supplies. When were finally used it was a suicide mission, just really big kamikaze boats.

Know what would be cool is like battleship/submarine hybrid, a battleship with a deployable attack submarine inside of it that crew can also transfer to in engagements

Not the largest naval battle in history.
That one was the Cape Ecnomus battle, between Rome and Carthage, counting a little less than 700 ships involved.

Who is the narrator of this? I watched battle 360 on the USS Enterprise and his ability to catch my attention for so long with his voice is amazing.

When you are an American WWII marine veteran,
And now your grandchild is a whale activist fighting Japanese boats against whale hunting.

Yamato and Mushashi were big yes.
But I bet toe to toe with two Iowas?
They have 50/50 chance of being sunk.
